Newly Restored Ashford Castle Re-Opens
Ashford Castle, a true jewel in the crown of Ireland's iconic hotels, is proudly owned by the Red Carnation Hotel Collection, Brendan's sister company under The Travel Corporation family of brands. The iconic Ashford Castle was officially re-opened to the public by Ireland's Prime Minister, Enda Kenny and Beatrice Tollman, the President and Founder of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection on April 17, 2015.
The delicate restoration process, led by Mrs. Tollman and her daughter Toni Tollman, was undertaken with deep care for the 800-year old castle's history, while adding brand new amenities like a 32-seat movie theater, billiards room, cigar terrace, luxury lakeside cottage, boutique wine cellars for private dining and a children's game room. Each of the 82 guestrooms and suites and all public areas have been artfully decorated and redesigned with a range of hand-selected antiques, original artwork, and more, complemented by the latest technologies expected by the modern traveler.
The recent restoration has enhanced outdoor areas and facilities on the 350-acre estate and include falconry, an equestrian centre, clay shooting, golf, tennis, cycling, fishing and water sports on Lough Corrib.
