Star Pride

4.3/5 |

With only 212 guests, a Star Pride cruise will make you feel like you're on board your own private yacht almost as soon as you step aboard.

The sitting area of your spacious, newly refurbished suite gives you an expansive ocean view — making it a welcome retreat.

When you're ready to make an appearance, the lounges, club, casino and library are waiting to be explored. Take some "you" time in the tranquil WindSpa . . . enjoy a dip in the pool . . . work off that decadent dessert in the Fitness Center . . . and, of course, you are always welcome to visit the Bridge to examine navigation charts with the Captain.

Star Pride is large enough to pamper and entertain you, yet small enough to tuck into delightful tiny harbors and hidden coves that others can’t reach.

Windstar Cruises Star Pride Caribbean Treasures

| Martinique, Saint Lucia, Guadeloupe, Monserrat, Saint Barthelemy, Puerto Rico.
A very good cruise overall with the finest cuisine we have ever enjoyed anywhere. Attentive friendly staff. This is not a cruise for guests who are not self-directed and require constant onboard activities and entertainment.

Review of Windstar Iceland Cruise

| Iceland
The Icelandic people were very welcoming. Do not miss the day at the Blue Lagoon!

Pleasant but not exceptional cruise

| Southeast Canada
This was our first experience with Windstar, and I’d give it a solid “B.” The cabins (all suites) are huge and have great amenities. The staff was attentive, although I think our cabin attendant was the only one who ever learned our names (the staff knowing your names and favorite drinks is often touted in reviews). We were a little disappointed in the food; it was generally good but not exceptional. The menu was perhaps a bit ambitious for the kitchen. The southeast Canada itinerary was excellent, tho we would have liked more time in the most interesting ports and could have skipped a couple of the less interesting ones.

Mediterranean Cruise

| Mediterranean
Not geared toward 24/7 party'ers or Millennials at all, thank the Lord!!!

Great Canada and Northeast cruise on star pride

| montreal, quebec city, portland, boston
Could be difficult for people with mobility issues due to the small size of the forward elevators. I injured my knee and had to use a transport chair to get around in....difficult at times. However, the crew and fellow passengers were all wonderful at helping out! Would definitely choose WindStar again.

Good but many disappointments.

| Greek, Turkish islands, Istanbul
This ship was purchased from Seaborne with the promise of refurbishment, which did not get done sufficiently enough. The promotional information(hype), and even promises on the ship failed to materialize which led to almost daily disappointments. The transfer agents to the ship and after the cruise were terrible. The food was average but there were standouts of the crew, the chef, one of the reception ladies, but otherwise, lots of promises with many disappointments. The ports were good, but again, the tours fell into disappointment when lunch would be delayed until after 2pm when the tour started at 8am having eaten breakfast at 7am. My main thought was I got about half of what I expected and paid the full cost, so value wise, not a good choice.

Windstar

| Sicily
Enjoyed the cruise

Windstar Star Pride

| Southern Caribbean
Ship is going in for much need repairs (and getting stretched). Staff looked after everything quickly and to pax satisfaction. Whenever there was a question (not many) someone addressed it immediately.
Food (see above) and Service - Dining room was happy to send a special plate to pax cabin when one expressed how much they enjoyed a dish. Beverages - all non-alcoholic are included. Each pax allowed to bring 2 bottles on without charge to consume in the cabin. Nice wine list - prices OK. Crew and staff were very friendly, efficient, helpful and always had a smile.
Cabins were HUGE! Would not suggest 100 or 101 as they are next to the anchor and a weird shape/size.
Water sports were fun - Weekly beach BBQ was lots of fun - music, water sports, great BBQ food with sun/sand/sea.
Casual atmosphere throughout the ship without being sloppy.
More couples, well traveled people who don't need to impress others. More than 50% were repeat guest. I would definitely go again.

Pride of the Aegean

| Athens to Istanbul via Greek Islands and Turquoise Coast
This was our first non-expedition cruise. We are highly averse to large ships and Star Pride was just fine with 104 cabins. The cabins were attractive and spacious, with adequate closet and drawer storage, a nice two sink bathroom, a comfortable sitting area and a veranda that we could (just barely) step onto. We only had one 110 outlet but had been expecting none so we were ready with adapters. Nice itinerary with a mixture of historic/archaeological sites and a few more recreational ports. Beautiful private candlelight dinner event at Ephesus. Service staff - cabin, restaurant and bar - all very friendly, attentive and fun. Excellent cocktail bar quartet - light jazz and jazzy pop. Very nice experience.

Star Pride

| Iceland
We would travel on this ship again. Music groups were talented and fun to dance to their music.

Star Pride Review

| Iceland
The Star Pride is like cruising on a large private yacht. The refurbished suites are a good size (even entry level suites), nicely decorated with large walk-in closets. The room attendants (all suites have a butler, but we hardly ever saw him) are very accommodating and keep the toiletries and mini-bar well stocked. There are numerous common areas and none are crowded. There is never a wait to dine in the main dining room. The specialty restaurants were excellent and we really enjoyed the new Grill and Cuadro 44. Be sure to make your reservations as soon as you check-in. If there is availability you can add extra nights. The ship is extremely easy to navigate. Nothing is very far from the cabins and it is not usually necessary to take the elevators. They are small but there is never a wait for them because most people walk the steps. The spa is very nice and they have a steam room and sauna, with a relaxation room, that is available to everyone at no charge. The ship is small enough to get into smaller ports, which makes for more interesting itineraries.
