Crystal Symphony

With her sleek silhouette and shimmering elegance, the legendary Crystal Symphony finds a natural home in the world's most glamorous harbors and idyllic ports of call. The hallmarks of Crystal - legendary service, abundant space, exceptional quality and unparalleled choices - have earned Crystal Symphony international recognition. In October 2017, the 50,000-ton Crystal Symphony will emerge from her longest-ever makeover, a multi-million-dollar Evolution of Crystal Luxury featuring spacious new suites and penthouses, new and expanded dining options with open seating, and more state-of-the-art technologies including free, unlimited Wi-Fi. The transformation reduces the guest capacity to just 848, thereby increasing service and space ratios to be among the industry's loftiest. This stylish and contemporary vessel is your home away from home as you travel the globe.

Activities & Services

If you believe that the journey is the adventure, then the fabulously carefree days at sea are sure to inspire the most meaningful stories. Mornings of yoga and Pilates, a rejuvenating hot stone massage, or a jog around the Promenade Deck. Afternoons quenching your curiosities about digital filmmaking at the Creative Learning Institute, sampling rare wines at a tasting, traditional afternoon tea every afternoon in the Pam Court, or mastering our technology skills on 27" iMacs? - conveniently dual platform for Mac and PC users - at the Computer University@Sea. Perhaps you'll attend an intriguing lecture or a lively dance class, practice your hand at painting, or perfect your golf game using TaylorMade? clubs at a PGA pro-hosted clinic. With Crystal, the choices are as endless as the sea.

With Crystal?s all-inclusive cruising, complimentary gratuities for housekeeping (Penthouse Butler, Penthouse Attendant, Stateroom Attendant and Trainee Stateroom Attendants), bar and dining staff (including specialty restaurants and in-room dining service staff) are included.

If you would like to present gratuities for other service personnel, please do so at your discretion, or if you have any questions regarding gratuities, please contact the Reception Desk on board.

Crystal suggests an 18% gratuity for Crystal Spa & Salon services, which will be automatically added to your bill and charged to your shipboard account for your convenience.

  • Internet Access -

All Crystal guests will enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi access for the duration of their voyage. New SpeedNet accelerators and recabled network technologies will make it easier than ever to stay connected with friends, family and business associates as you travel the world. Crystal Connect is an exclusive guest portal and digital app that allows guests to access the Internet directly from laptops, tablets and smartphones. From here, you can surf the web, browse the ships? daily newsletter, access dozens of international news services, book spa appointments and Crystal Adventures shore excursions, and more. Aboard both ships, guests will also enjoy Crystal?s innovative Computer University@Sea?, a dedicated venue with 27? Macintosh computers offering complimentary instructional programs and classes

Please note: It is not possible to connect a laptop through the shipboard phone system directly to any phone number ashore for dial-up services. Skype, iChat, Facetime, and other similar services are not available on board.

    Computer University@Sea Facilities

The popular Computer University@Sea program is offered on all cruises. CU@Sea provides e-mail services, internet access, group and individual instruction on use of a PC, extensive enrichment course offerings, and digital camera support. Complimentary classes allow you to master new technologies with Mac OS or Windows on 27" Apple computers, and each ship has at least 25 state-of-the-art workstations. Details on CU@Sea programs, classes and hours are listed in the onboard daily newsletter Reflections. Internet Fees apply for internet access.

    Laptop Rentals

Rental PC laptops are available for guests' use on board for a nominal daily charge. From these specially configured computers you can access the Internet, as well as your shipboard e-mail from your stateroom. The current schedule of charges is available on board.

  • Special Dietary Needs - Advance Notice Required - Guest requiring a special diet, including any food allergies, or needing specific food items during their cruise, should submit a written dietary request to the Onboard Guest Services Department, either by fax at (310)785-3975 or via email to onboardgstsvcs@crystalcruises.com, at least 90 days (3 months) prior to sailing. Guests must confirm arrangements with the Food and Beverage staff on the day of embarkation. There may be a charge for some special requests, as well as any applicable shipping fees.

A wide choice of pre-packaged kosher-certified meals, including meats, seafood and poultry, as well as white and red kosher wines, is available on a limited basis, on every itinerary. All chefs, kitchen and dining staff have been trained in kosher food preparation, handling and servicing. Only kosher pots, pans and utensils are used, and plates, silverware and glassware are washed separately. Due to limited provisioning resources, the number of guests per cruise who may partake in a kosher-style program is restricted to 20. Guests whose diet requires, or who wish to dine kosher-style, must provide Crystal Cruises with advance notice at the time of the initial reservation, and no less than 90 days prior to sailing. Crystal will do all they can to ensure guests' needs are met. Due to limited availability, kosher-style dining is subject to confirmation from Crystal Cruises.

  • Wheelchair Access & Special Needs - Guests with any disability, including those primarily confined to wheelchairs or scooters, are medically oxygen dependent, are hearing impaired or use service animals, must notify Crystal Cruises at the time of booking as they may be required to submit forms for Release and Indemnity directly to Onboard Guest Services, by fax to 310-785-3975 or via email at onboardgstsvcs@crystalcruises.com, prior to sailing.

For complete details and guidelines, guests who have special requirements, physical challenges or need oxygen should refer to the Onboard Accessibility Guide. If a guest would like a hard copy of the Onboard Accessibility Guide, they may request it through the Onboard Guest Services department.

Guests must bring their own wheelchair or electric scooter that does not exceed 22" wide. Please note: Crystal Cruises reserves the right to limit the number of electric scooters on board.

Crystal's ships were designed to be accessible for the physically challenged, with ramp access to most decks and public areas. Ships? elevators can accommodate most wheelchairs, motorized wheelchairs or electrically-powered scooters that do not exceed 22" wide, allowing access to all public decks. It is strongly recommended that the guest be accompanied by a traveling companion for better access to all areas on and around both Crystal ships, as well as ashore.

Certain staterooms offer extra-wide doors, fully wheelchair-accessible bathrooms and wheelchair-accessible closets with low-fitted hanging rods. Some suites offer limited wheelchair access to personal facilities. Staterooms and suites designated for guests with disabilities are subject to availability and must be reserved prior to boarding the ship.

    Going Ashore
As some ports of call are anchorage ports and others may be challenging, certain physical conditions may preclude guests requiring wheelchairs or scooters from going ashore, especially in tender ports. This decision is made at the discretion of the ship?s Captain for safety reasons and is binding.

The onboard Shore Excursions staff is able to assist with recommendations on which Crystal Adventures tours, if any, are best suited for guests with physical challenges or disabilities.

Additional conditions may apply and should be discussed in detail with Onboard Guest Services at time of booking.

  • Smoking Policy - Crystal Cruises kindly asks all guests to observe the non-smoking areas on board which have been created for the comfort and enjoyment of everyone.

Indoor smoking is permitted only in the Connoisseur Club smoking lounge. Smoking is prohibited in all other indoor areas of the ship including all other public rooms, lounges, corridors and restaurants, as well as all staterooms, suites and verandahs. Please note, if smoke is detected in a stateroom or suite, a cleaning fee of $250 per incident will be billed to your account.

Outdoor smoking is allowed in a limited number of designated spaces as follows:

    Cigarette Smoking (including electronic cigarettes):

    • Decks 11, 10, 9, and 8 Aft
    • Seahorse pool area, port side only
    • Promenade Deck

    Cigar and Pipe Smoking:

    • Decks 11, 10, 9, and 8 Aft

  • Pregnancy Policy - Crystal Cruises is unable to accommodate women past their 24th week of pregnancy.

Crystal Symphony - Australia/New Zealand

| Australia/New Zealand
Crystal Cruises seems to do everything right, and I am not surprised. Despite the fact that they are growing their brand faster than any cruise line in history (that I am aware of), their current products continue to be among the best in the industry. Starting at the beginning, embarkation could not have been easier or gone more smoothly. It literally took us less than 10 minutes from when we arrived at the cruise terminal, until we were comfortably onboard the ship. To be fair, we boarded after the main rush. But with a completely full ship, I still expected at least a short line when we arrived at the port, but there was none. That obvious level of efficiency and planning would be repeated throughout our voyage, as we never waited more than 2 or 3 minutes in line for anything, including tenders. I want to point out once again, that this all happened with a completely full ship! On the subject of crowds on a full ship, there were none, even on the sea days. I attribute this to the impressive list of activities available every day. Whether you wanted to listen to the Secret Service agent who climbed on the back of JFKs limo in Dallas on that fateful day in 1963, hear from an astronaut who has been on multiple missions, or take a knitting, art, Spanish or computer class, the offerings were plentiful. This meant there was never a crowd around the pool, or anywhere else onboard. The dining options on Symphony provide a wonderful variety that should allow everyone to find something that appeals to them. Our experiences in Silk Road, Prego, Lido Caf, Trident Grill, and of course the main dining room, could not have been better. The only downside being that the wonderful food combined with the sea air, somehow made all of our clothes shrink a size or two ? To offset the constant temptations we encountered, not only from the restaurants above, but also from the Ice Cream Bar and snacks at The Bistro, we made use of the wonderful gym onboard. There are plenty of cardio machines ellipticals, treadmills, bikes, etc., as well and a nice variety of classes, resistance machines and free weights. In addition to the lecturers mentioned above, there are of course a number of night time entertainment options. We enjoyed the beautiful violin music before dinner as well as the various musicians in the lounges later in the evening. The Galaxy Lounge was host to wonderful production shows, a hilarious ventriloquist/comedian, and other headline entertainers throughout the cruise. As usual with Crystal, I have to mention the staff. From day one, at least 5 members of the staff were calling us by name, and by the second day our favorite drinks would arrive within moments of us sitting down anywhere onboard. Whether it was at breakfast outside the Lido Caf (decaf latte for my wife and regular coffee for me), on a super comfortable lounge chair around the pool (iced tea and beer), or in the Crystal Cove each evening (white wine for her, red for me), they always knew what we wanted. Getting to experience the wonderful staff is one of the highlights of a Crystal cruise.

I don

| Europe
All our recent cruises are on Crystal and we are recommending the company to our friends

This ship ROCKS!

| New England - NYC to Canada.
I was overwhelmed when I boarded the ship, in a good way, with all the cruise members waiting on us hand and foot. Smiles galore. Cannot say enough about the wonderful experience we had. Due to a storm, we missed our last port and had to go back to NYC. But even with that, we wouldn't change a thing. They gave us a fabulous week of memories.

Trans Atlantic depart Miami March 25 disembark April 10

| Trans Atlantic
Food on ship was outstanding.Crystal dining room was good. Prego and Silk Road were great.Lido buffet was good, Trident cafe served Hot dogs, Hamburgers and other healthy food for lunch. Service in Trident was superb most of servers knew our name 1st day. Entertainment could use some inprovement. Guest speakers were good ,especially Marc Ginsberg "not a relative" He was Ambassador to Morroco and a specialist in the Middle East to a couple of presidents. Very Insiteful.Photo and computer classes were well attended and very well recieved.

| Europe
Ship being only half filled, and about half of those being from GB, it made for a fun adventure getting to socialize with many people from the US and other countries. Crystal makes everyone feel special and at home. Even when in Port, it was not unusual to see a staff member who greeted you like family. From the most gracious, easy boarding I've ever experienced, to the cleanliness of the ship, the friendly and engaging staff, good food, enetertainment and wonderful guest, everything was as perfect as it could be. There was time to explore, see new places, time to relax, meet new friends, and enjoy the entertainment. Absolutely a lovely cruise and wonderful experience.

Lovely ship and exceptional crew

| Hamburg, Christensand, Edinborough, Newcastle and Amsterdam
Overal we enjoyed our trip very much. The ship was lovely and well appointed. We found that Crystal caters to returning passengers who don't necessarily participate in off-ship activities while in port. Our only issue was with the distance the ship was to Metro Hamburg, Edinborough (took us an hour in traffic in both directions and the shuttle stopped early in the evening), and Newcastle.

Luxurious and Relaxing

| Pacific Coast - US
We celebrated our 30th anniversary on this cruise so wanted a more upscale experience. We did get that and really enjoyed how the employees learned your names and preferences by the end of the first day. The food and service couldn't have been better. The cabins were very small but tolerable since we didn't spend a lot of time in it. Having a balcony was nice and made it feel a little larger. We figured it would be a little older age group traveling but we felt very young with all the 70, 80, 90 year olds on board. We may have seen five children on the cruise. The entertainment was somewhat geared toward that age group but it was very good. Having most everything included was wonderful and the photographers were not intrusive at all. The size (around 900 passengers) was great. We got to know quite a few others on the ship and never felt crowded or herded like on some ships. Getting on and off the ship was very organized and easy. It was a very relaxing get-away and we'd recommend it.

Memorable Australia/New Zealand adventures

| New Zealand/Australia
MAHALO NUI LOA for opportunity to explore & enjoy Aussie & Kiwi cultures! Didn't have availabiity of NZ/Australian wines; only had one white wine from NZ.

Crystal Symphony

| Brazil
The Symphony is showing her age. The sound system is not up to date. The movies are old and not recent releases. The salad dressings are way too sour and tart, The sauce of the main dishes are too salty.

Crystal Symphony - Western Australia, Tasmania, NSW

| Western Australia, Tasmania, NSW
We have enjoyed several cruise lines over about 30 years, including Princess, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, two others that no longer exist, and of course Crystal. We have enjoyed all 30+ cruises. However, Crystal Cruises is our favorite. We enjoy the mid-size ships with comfortable public spaces, regular renovations & upgrades, wonderful service, and all-inclusive package. On this Australia Cruise, there were a few maiden ports offered, and we enjoyed all of the ports included. Looking forward to cruising on Crystal again!

Delightful in every way

| Cyprus, Israel, Jordan, Oman, Dubai
Other than the organization and execution of the embarkment experience this cruise went off without a hitch.

Crystal Symphony -7/12/2019 Alaska

| Alaska
The dining is excellent with open seating in the main dining room Waterside. One complimentary reservation at each of the 2 specialty restaurants. Lots of flexibility and choices including Prego, Umi Uma, Brazilian and Silk Kitchen. Amazing drinks with an extensive martini menu and "drink of the day". The nightly entertainment was really good in the Galaxy Theater. Singers, dancers and comedians are far better than I've seen on other cruise lines. Palm Court and other lounges had good entertainment as well. Enjoyed the magician Ben Jackson and his parlor magic. Lots to do during the day with the guest speakers and computer classes.

Singapore Cruise

| Singapore to Singapore
Excursions were the worst ever. Nothing to see.

Crystal "Symphony" Delivers!

| Canada New England
Crystal Cruises has always been a leader in luxury cruise travel. With the recent make over of "Symphony" (Serenity to follow), Crystal has really "upped their game". They've added interactive television in all cabins, include Wi-Fi for all guests in addition to changing cabin soft goods and color schemes. The new dining venues of Umi Uma and Churrascaria are fabulous, with Waterside (the main dining room), Silk & Trident Grill rounding out the many choices. The attention to details and high service levels delivered by every member of the staff completely spoil each guest. The answer is always "yes"! We enjoyed outstanding entertainment each evening, with interesting lectures throughout the cruise, as well.

China

| China
Five star ship and service.

Alaska

| Alaska
We never experienced any waiting in line for anything. The service staff were very friendly and helpful. And the food and choices for dinner and all meal options on the ship were excellent! My husband particularly enjoyed the ice cream bar!

great getaway

| Dublin to Dover
very enjoyable, great service, excellent food

Crystal Symphony

| China Japan and Korea
Food in all the dinning areas are not as good as on previous cruises. Excursions are way out of line. Too expensive for the value.

Fabulous

| Alaska reposition
Cant wait to sail on Crystal again. Met all our expectations and more!!

Top Cruise Line

| Bali, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Sanya, Hong Kong,
Great ports, excellent service.

My cruise

| Beijing, Hiroshima, Shimizu, Osaka, Tokyo
Although the food, staff were very good, some of the floor shows lacked enough energy. Shore excursions were priced very high.

Luxurious Cacation

| Copenhagen, Rostok,Germany, Helsinki, Finland and St. porters burg, Russia
Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Crystal. The components of a relaxing cruise were all on dislplay on board. Every last detail is considered by the staff to ensure every day is a memorable experience.

1st time on Crystal was a wonderful experience

| British Isles, Ireland, Scotland
The entire experience surpassed our expectations. We have booked another cruise already.

Holidays Down Under 2016/17

| New Zealand and Australia
A very busy sold out cruise over the Festive Season and Crystal handles it all with professional and personal service.
The level of service is really to be admired. I believe this sets Crystal apart from it's competition.
It's amazing how the staff strives for 100% satisfaction.
The food remains wonderful as does the enrichment program onboard.
A very good and special experience.

7-Night North SeaMedley Cruise

| Amsterdam
The cruise was handled efficiently from embarkation/disembarkation to immigration processes. Housekeeping was very, very good. Consider trading Oslo for Kristiansand and London for Newcastle as these ports were least exciting for shore excursions.

Eastern Canada 2015

| Montreal to Quebec
We have sailed on other cruises but Crystal exceeded our expectations!

Some changes

| New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia
The boat was the same with some redone spaces and rooms. Crew is still pleasant and helpful. The guys around the pool and grill are great as is most of the more formal waitstaff. The food was very, very good and plentiful. The wine was varied and good with a couple of weak ones for the "included" wines. The beer list is still lack luster with a "special" list of unusual, expensive and strange brews mostly from Belgium and other EU spots with one Sam Adams special beer. Too expensive and strange, though. The surprises came with the unannounced changes in policy. Not having been in the mood for caviar on the night it was served we ordered it another night. To our astonishment, the waiter said there is a "cost" for this if not on the night it is served. Also, one must pay per person for any reservations after the first in Prego or Silk Road. We never received any notice of these policy changes. The leg from Sydney to Bali was strange. We wanted to see both the Barrier Reef and the Rain Forest in Cairns but lost the reef excursion due to arrival in port 10 hours late! They blamed the tides (not predicable with tide charts?) and the currents for this loss of one day in Cairns. No other explanation or offer of compensation. Lombok was the pits; their first, and hopefully last, call at this island. Komoko was fun. Darwin was hot and the city blah. The tour to the national park left too late to take in all the sites and again no explanation or compensation. The biggest problem is the tours which are operated by local companies and can be highly variable with poor itineraries and guides. Better to arrange your own through an agent or the source.

Wonderful cruise

| China
Wonderful cruise. Thanks to all the great staff.

13 day Central America Cruise

| Central Amereica
Had clear hot weather for most of the cruise and there were about 100+ people on board for the Jazz Dagan Jazz concerts which featured 20 musicians. the Cove and Palm court were jumping with music all night long. Entertainment was excellent as always plus a new show called Idols was unveiled. As always the ship was in first class shape. Had about 650 people on board for most of the cruise because Crystal offered a 5 day option out of LA to Puerto vallarrta.

Perfect

| Italy, France, Spain
Food was exceptional!

Crystal Symphony Shines

| Southeast Asia-Singapore to Hong Kong
I've sailed on Crystal Symphony several times, have always been well provided for and taken care of by the very attentive staff. The recent enhancements to the main lobby, Crystal Cove, outdoor fitness garden and throughout the ship have turned out beautifully. The nightly entertainment was varied, interesting and worthwhile...especially the Illuminations show. Shore excursions offered by Crystal cover all important areas of each port city. Tours are priced fairly and are a good value. Dining continues to be outstanding, from room service to casual to Asian influenced to Italian to endless variety in the main dining room. Special diet requests pose no problem for the chef.  Cabins are small, yet very well appointed.  Removal of the barrel shaped chair at the vanity provides valuable space and ease of moving around cabin.

What a treat!

| Cabo, Costa Rica, Panama Canal, Columbia, Grand Cayman, Key West, Charleston and NYC
This was our first cruise and did we pick a winner for a cruise line. Everyone on board who had been on other cruise lines said we started at the top. Panama Canal was on our bucket list and did not disappoint. All in all we had a marvelous time and will probably do a cruise again on this line.

Amazing cruise

| Mediterranean
We had great time. Food was good and plentiful. Loved the itinerary although some of the guides on the excursion tours were not suitable. Service was outstanding.

Recent trip to Asia

| Tokyo
Just got off the Symphony going from Hong Kong to Tokyo. As always the food and ship's personnel were excellent and the upgrades to the Palm court were beautiful. The cruise was sold out so on sea days when the weather was not conducive to sitting on the deck the Lido resturant and grill area were impacted during lunch time. hours. Ship held the seas very well even during strong winds and rough seas. Lecturers on board were excellent as were the new shows during the evening

November 23, 2013 - Miami to Rio

| SOUTH AMERICA
The lecturers had a full audience every time due to excellent material. Though I did not attend, I heard many good things about bridge instructor. I did attend some art classes and found them interesting and educational.

A little piece of heaven on the seas

| Greek Isles
Once you've sailed with Crystal, you are spoiled for life. No other cruise line even comes close. They totally spoil you. Everything is included and you aren't charged for every little thing. The staff calls you by name within a couple days. Food is amazing. There is nothing to NOT like about this cruise ship and company.

Crystal Symphony March 20, 2017

| Asia
This was an interest itinerary with three overnights in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Incheon. Many people also took overnight adventures so although the ship was full, it never felt that way. The food had greatly improved and the service was much more refined than it was three years ago. The only issue was the amount of security and delays due to immigration as we traveled from Hong Kong to China to Japan and finally to Korea. Departure on excursions was delayed and we needed to go into the terminal as we entered each country even if we planned to stay on board in the port.

Crystal Symphony California Cache

| round trip San Diego
Some changes with Crystal, You must ask to have liquor in your room refrigerator. You must request to have fruit in your cabin and the room service menus are stored in the back of a book in the desk drawer. They are not put out at night.  The Symphony will be refitted for anytime dining in 2017 and the Serenity in 2018.  this will be great.  Crystal does a great job activities and shows.  We particularly enjoyed the excursion to the Getty Center (except for LA traffic) and cooking school in Ensenada.  Being in SFO overnight is really great.

Crystal Symphony NY-Reykjavik May 19-31, 2017

| Reykjavik, Iceland
Beautifully prepared and tasty meals, with choices for gluten free and other allergies. All personnel well trained to smile and greet guests warmly. Passengers made up of multi-generations, millennials, as well as those in their 60's and 70's. All mixed well.

Grand Britannia Sailing

| Isle of Skye and Guernsey
Although I arrived two days after the shipped sailed from Tilbury, the staff had advised all the SIG passengers about my situation. The staff sent out the cocktail party invitations and set up the party for the night of July 25th. The staff took care of everything and couldn't be more helpful. The food was amazing and if special requests were made, the staff accommodated the needs. 5 stars for the staff!

Norway North Cape Cruise

| Norway North Cape
We thoroughly enjoyed our Crystal North Cape cruise. In addition to the excellent category reviews (below), the weather was spectacular the entire time. Bright sunshine daily.l

Symphony in Australia

| Australia
This voyage was a perfect way to get a real taste of Australia. The animal life is so unique and made the trip memorable. Enough can't be said for the graciousness of the Australians. The ship's staff was so attentive to the guests. One of my groups had many dietary needs and they were always catered to at each and every meal. Can't say enough about the staff who do all possible to make each day a special occasion.

Crystal Symphony

| Canada and New England
The redo of the Symphony is very elegantly done in soft and pleasing colors and design. It was the first time I had been on Crystal since beverages became included. The wines offered were excellent and glasses refilled in a timely manner. Food and service in all the restaurants was excellent. The entertainment was the best in have experienced on a ship in recent memory. Their regular singers and dancers, costumes, and set design were superb. Also, the other entertainers brought on board were top notch. I was in a deluxe stateroom with verandah. It was well designed with plenty of storage space for two.

Baltic Cruise

| Stockholm, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Talinn, Riga, Klaipeda, Warnemunde/Berlin, Copenhagen
Crystal deserves its reputation as the best.

At sea

| Caribbean
Only complaint. sugar free yogurt or ice cream should be available

Papeete French Polynesia to Auckland New Zealand

| South Pacific
The food in Silk Road and Prego were both fabulous and the meals in the Crystal Dining Room had a wonderful selection to choose from. Even with Dining by Reservations we had the same wait staff most of the time so that they were able to know your likes and dislikes. My only complaint was that I have food allergies to black pepper and tomatoes and the food was very bland as if you couldn't have any seasoning even though I was given the next evening's menu to give my selection to the chef a head of time so he could prepare the food accordingly. The wait staff & maitre'd were always apologetic even though it was not their fault. Lido and Trident Grill were great options for breakfast or lunch and the staff at both locations were very friendly. I was amazed that after the first day whenever they saw you they greeted you by name and asked if they could be of assistance.

Cruise Evaluation

| Hawaii
You have to improve the WiFi... 25mb for the whole ship...Terrible Dial up is faster

J&B Central America Voyage

| Central America.
Average age of the guests must be near 70. Therefore, not much activity after 10PM. Embarkation and debarkation is very smooth. They do not miss a beat. The open seating in the dining room is OK but there is a disconnect now between special requests made one night and the knowledge of them on the actual request night. Since we sit in different areas, the wait staff is not aware of the request and if we do not remind them, it slips through the cracks. Previously, when we were at the same table every evening, this was not an issue as the same folks were serving us. Too many of the activities I enjoyed were overlapping and I would have to miss a part of one to attend another.

Hong Kong to Tokyo, 17-night, May 2019

| Hong Kong to Tokyo
The itinerary was from Hong Kong to Tokyo with ports of call in Taroko Gorge (Taiwan), Taipei, Ishigaki and Okinawa in the Ryukyus, Shanghai, Pusan, Nagasaki, Kagushima, and Osaka. As an all-inclusive cruise, gratuities and all drinks were included--only shore excursions and spa services were additional. As this was a point-to-point itinerary, many people cruised into Hong Kong from Singapore and some extended beyond Tokyo to San Francisco. The passengers were all well-traveled and sophisticated. This cruise appeals to many singles, especially those who enjoy dancing and Crystal had many gentlemen hosts and dance group staff who mingled freely. We especially enjoyed the quality of the shows, often two different per night. There was good variety of production shows along with excellent variety acts. While the specialty restaurants are fantastic, the regular restaurant always featured three types of cuisine: the "modern", a variety of European-style food, and the always available standards.

Incan immersion

| chile, peru, ecuador, panama, columbia, jamiaca, key west, miami
in general, very good but VERY expensive for the itinerary

Kiwis & Koalas Cruise

| Australia/New Zealand
The Symphony is a beautiful ship with great dining options and entertainment. Whether you are sailing on the Crystal Serenity or the Symphony, the staff is exceptional.

Trip of a Lifetime!

| Alaska
Our trip on The Crystal Symphony was simply amazing! It exceeding our expectations!!! Our Alaska trip was a dream come true. We loved being on a smaller ship, the personal attention to detail with the cruise knowing our names was so very special. We will never go on another cruise line again!

Crystal Symphony Round Trip Singapore

| Singapore
The Symphony sailed up the coast of Malaysia to Mynmar, which was the highlight of the cruise. Ships dock about 1 hour outside of Yangon, but the drive is interesting and the ships shore excursions are excellent. Other ports were in Malaysia, Thailand and the Andaman Islands. It was necessary to get an Indian Visa for the Andaman Island so many stayed on the ship as it was only a 4 or 5 hour shore excursion

New Zealand, March 2019

| New Zealand
DINING: The Nobu Restaurant is now called Umi Uma, but it's the same sublime experience (I'm madly in love with ther sushi chef). Main Dining Room and Prego are also the same (wonderful). They added Silk, which is an Asian Restaurant serving Lunch and Dinner (menu includes yummy dumplings, ramen & noodles, etc; reservations required for dinner but no limit) and the Lido Cafe transforms for dinner into a Brazillian Churrascaria, serving grilled meats etc.

NEW ZEALAND TIPS:
  • Late March weather was iffy, and the Tasman Sea crossing was rough (Dec-Feb would be better).
  • Advise clients to book excursions well in advance because capacity is limited.

Crystal Symphony New Zealand Jan 29, 2013

| New Zealand North & South Islands
The food in the main dining room was varied and delicious. It was only outdone by my dining experiences in the two alternative restaurants: Prego and Silk Road.
The basic veranda cabins are a little smaller than on the Serenity. (It makes sense; it's a slightly smaller ship.) So pulling the chair out from the vanity table, it bumps into the small coffee table.  But the linens and amenities in the shower are wonderful and the decor is lovely. The loveseat is comfortable.
The Crystal Singers and Dancers are an incredibly talented bunch of people. The Production Shows were very entertaining and the costumes were astonishing.
We especially enjoyed the Avenue Saloon Piano Bar with Mark Farris at the helm.  He asked and remembered people's names so you were greeted when you came in the next time and made to feel part of a "neighborhood bar", like in the old TV series "Cheers" where "Everybody knows your name." He is also incredibly talented with a wonderful voice.
We always have a fabulous time when we sail with Crystal.  They do it right!

Classic Crystal charm

| Western Seaboard - San Francisco to Vancouver
We enjoyed our Penthouse Suite experience and Milands ability to read our minds. I occasionally asked for an off menu item and my requests were granted, sometimes making nearby diners envious. No harm in askin! Staff attentive and professional-never too familiar, never too far.

Magnificent Malay Cruise

| Bali; Brunei; Singapore
Crystal Symphony lived up to its standard in dining, service and enrichment and computer courses on board. Less than expected on some of the shore excursions -- snorkeling in Romblon, seeing Mt Luho by buggy/ATV, eg.

Crystal Symphony Baltic Sea

| Copenhagen, Stockholm, St Petersburg, Helsinki
This is our fourth cruise on Crystal. The first was on Crystal Serenity and the last three have been on Crystal Symphony. Both ships and all cruises have been excellent. I wouldn't even consider sailing on another line.

Crystal Cruises

| Montreal to New York
Not sure what the problem was, things were not being replaced when they should have been. Some wines ran out so we were told, until a person in our group got mad. Then the wine was available but only on request. Their seemed to be a shortage of things. We have been on many different cruise lines and had heard that Crystal was one of the best. At this point I would not travel with them again. I do want to add it was a great trip as far as staff and intinerary. Getting on and off the ship was perfect. Best it has ever been.

Crystal Experience San Diego to Auckland

| Auckland
With so many days at sea one might might worry about getting bored, but the excellent assortment of guest speakers kept the passengers mentally stimulated and/or entertained daily. It also was an excellent opportunity for many to learn new dance steps with some of the most charming, intelligent group of hosts I have seen. The tour I took in Honolulu was the exploration around the north shore as we had been there before. Our guide was one of the most knowledgeable marine biologists we have ever heard. Personable, too. The passengers consisted of many frequent Crystal cruisers; however I met two couples who were first timers. They were enchanted with the "Crystal experience."

President's Cruise 2017

| Middle East
The ship's Hotel Manager explained the bottle-neck was due to insufficient officials to handle the Immigration Process.

Escorted two cruises on the Symphony

| South America
Ships this old are usually retired or sold to overseas companies. They just spent about 10 million on this ship and she looks great. I love the new SeaBreeze Penthouses. I loved the new Asian restaurants too.

Crystal Symphony

| Sydney to Bali
1. Very good food in main dining room.
2. Good food in the Asian alternative dining room.
3. Excellent food in the Prego alternative dining room.
4. Entertainment (particularly Broadway shows) was among the best I have seen on any ship!
5. Shore excursions on this sailing were somewhat limited and very
expensive. I heard several comments about this.
6. High Tea event in the Palm Court is outstanding.
7. TV in staterooms was very limited in terms of movie selection and
US news/sports. Compared to other ships that I have been on, this
definitely needs some improvement.

Excellent Cruise

| New Zealand
Although 15 days in length, wish it could have been a couple days longer, with extra time in Auckland.

The Baltic Sea Cities -- President's Cruise

| Stockholm, Helsinki, Talinn, St. Petersburg. Rostock, Copenhagen
From the time we landed in Stockholm, we were well taken care of by the Crystal Cruises. `We were met and taken to a 'Sheraton Hotel in the city until time to board the ship at 2 pm. Our checkin at the ship was quick, and the stateroom location on deck 5 was extremely convenient throughout the cruise. Food was excellent, and our table companions at dinner were very interesting and varied in background. The shore excursions were excellent with informative guides. We were fortunate to have a Signature bonus in St. Petersburg, with a private driver and guide to save us time inside the lovely Hermitage Museum and Peter and Paul Fortress. On ship, the song & dance programs were outstanding. The Crystal President and the renowned Roger Moore and his wife were on board and had a Q & A session for us. The days went too quickly with many ports, and we were so glad for three days in St; Petersburg;. What a memorable trip!!

Cleanliness & Safety

| Singapore; Saigon, Vietnam; Malaysian Borneo; Brunei; Surabaya & Bali, Indonesia
This was my first Crystal Cruise ship & I just got home on Sunday. I got lots of emails keeping me updated on the progress of my booking & any changes, which I appreciated. On the ship nothing was too much trouble & I heard very few grumblings! The food was spectacular & the staff had a sense of humour. The lectures were fascinating & I enjoyed the arts & crafts sessions. I planned to go in the pool but never seemed to have time! The shore trips were very varied & most of the local guides were good & knowledgeable. The cabins were well appointed with lots of practical storage space & roomy. The cabin stewards were great too. I think that the bathroom design is one of the best I have ever come across, & I have been travelling since I was 16 & am now about to turn 71, so I have seen a few in my time! If my budget allows I would certainly love to travel with Crystal again, & would recommend it to my friends. I like the small number of passengers as thousands is not my cup of tea.

Excellent Cruise

| Montreal to New York
Weather was an unavoidable problem (rain and wind). Service staff was outstanding.

The Crystal Symphony

| S.E. Asia
We boarded the Symphony with ease in Hong Kong during the prelude to their Lunar New Year. An amazing city: modern, efficient, sensational food & clean. Friendly english speaking locals were helpful. Our next several ports were all 3rd world, Sanya, China, Vietnam, Cambodia & Thailand. These next countries offered a very diverse experience...history, religion & revival are the main components of the excursions we experienced. The dollar was strong, our guides were local experts who were happy to share their knowledge of their country. We love the Symphony and this was our second sailing, and we were just as pleased and impressed as on our first. Service, food & amenities, entertainment and comfort were all excellent. We love Crystal & it has now become our favorite.

"The Gold Coast and Beyond" February 10, 2017 Cruise

| Australia/Bali

crystal score

| Australia/NZ
rooms on lower floor need refurbishing

Crystal Continues to Excel

| Caribbean
Crystal has figured out that if they keep their staff's morale high and happy that will translate to their passengers. I think this is what sets them apart from other cruise lines that for the time being have the larger cabins and a few more specialty restaurants.

Crystal Society members continue to rebook and the first time Crystal Cruisers are delighted.

Crystal Continues to Excel!

Antarctic and So American Cruise

| Antarctica, Argentina, Uruguay
Great cruise line, great trip. Will consider Crystal next time we cruise.

The Lovely Crystal Symphony

| Bali to Singapore included Indonesia, Malaysia , Thailand and Singapore
With Crystal it's all about the personal service. Yes the ship is beautiful, yes the food is grand, yes the entertainment and enrichment are beyond compare on any other cruise line. But at the end of the day you walk away talking about the staff and the generosity of spirit that they endow upon you as their guest on this ship in this part of the world at this time. Crystal talks about their passengers becoming "Crystalized". I am reporting that it is true.

Crystal Symphony remains Top Notch

| South America; Rio to Buenos Aires
Crystal remains one of the best cruise products on the market. The extraordinary service sets them apart from most other cruise lines. The all-inclusive aspect is much appreciated by the passengers. The all-inclusive has been very well-received.

western europe wayfarer

| Bordeaux, Amsterdam
great destinations short cruise, could be longer

An amazing cruise!

| Alaska
This is our second Crystal cruise and probably won't be our last! We love the level of service and the quality of the food. The specialty restaurants are wonderful, but the main dining room is nearly as good. Crystal provided a great selection of excursions, and the entertainment was generally very good. We were upgraded to a penthouse suite, and it was simply gorgeous.

Amazing way to experience the Baltic

| Baltic Cruise - Copenhage, Warnemunde, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Tallin, Stockholm
I had an amazing time on the Crystal Symphony. Despite being 20 years old, the ship does not show her age. I really appreciated the all inclusive nature of the cruise. I found I spent more time in the Crystal Cove and Avenue Saloon because I was not worried about the price of drinks. It seemed to make the ship a much more social environment. The staff were amazing and did not seem to say no to any request. The ports were great. The included shuttles to town were greatly appreciated. I really appreciated the lack of overhead announcements.

12night Reefs and Rainforest Cruise

| Sydney to Bali
A couple of nights in Sydney to unwind and immerse yourself in the Aussie culture. Climb the bridge or see an opera or just cruise around the harbor on one of the ferries. Boarding the elegant Crystal Symphony with check in on board made the boarding process so much easier. The cabins were spacious and immaculate. The cabin hostess (or Butler in if you are in a penthouse) were so service oriented and constantly looking to please. The food was excellent and the flavors of the ports of call were introduced into the menu, along with several chefs from the area that offered cooking classes. I loved how the speakers on this cruise talked about the destinations, the Great Barrier Reef, the issues between the US and China and raising bright children. The entertainment selection offered something for everyone - from the tradition full on Broadway shows, to the flutist, comedian and voice impressionist. You could pack light on this itinerary due to the weather and there were laundries on the ship with no extra charges.

STAY ON THE SHIP!

| Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong.
On board, Symphony would rate a 4 or 5. The entertainment was excellent and offered a nice varied selection of options. The staff was very attentive and professional. The food was above average. With outside temperatures in the high 90's, keeping the ship comfortable in all areas was a chore. Also, a small water leak in our closet was not a pleasant adventure! The excursions were generally below average, particularly in the way they were described and timed. Unfortunately, the travel times from the dock to the sights were overly lengthy and beyond the estimated time requirements. Descriptive data on the amount of physical activity required was often week.

Crystal Symphony

| Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark
Food did not seem as good as on the Crystal Serenity.
