Alaskan Cruises

From the blue ice of massive glacial fields to the stunning magnificence of its scenery and wildlife, everything in Alaska is big, bold, and breathtaking. Featuring rugged natural beauty and one-of-a-kind sights you can’t find anywhere else in the world, an Alaskan cruise with Crystal Cruises is sure to be an experience unlike any other. Majestic snow-capped peaks, abundant wildlife, and plenty of adventure and relaxation are on the itinerary when you book a Crystal Cruise through All-Travel.

On an Alaskan Crystal Cruise, you’ll have the opportunity to ride a sled pulled by true Alaskan Huskies through a frozen tundra, or find true serenity on a fishing expedition for Alaska king salmon. Whether you prefer action and adventure or rest and relaxation on your vacations, there’s something for everyone on an Alaskan Crystal Cruise. Although Alaska’s weather is its biggest shortcoming, the Alaskan cruise season typically runs from April to September, so you’ll experience the best weather the state has to offer on your cruise.

Crystal Serenity & Symphony

Depending on the exact cruise chosen, your Crystal Cruises cruise will take you on board the Crystal Serenity or Crystal Symphony. The Crystal Symphony is one of the most spacious cruise ships at sea, with amenities that include grand lounges, full-service fitness facilities, and a Feng Shui inspired spa for each of its 940 guests to enjoy. The Crystal Serenity is the newest addition to the fleet and raises the already lofty standards of Crystal Cruises to even greater heights. With an expanded space-to-guest ratio and elegantly appointed staterooms, each room has an unobstructed view of the ocean and surrounding land.

Things to Do in Alaska

Affectionately referred to as a land without fences, Alaska is a place where animals outnumber people, sunlight shines at midnight, and nature reigns supreme. Although cruisers will see plenty of wildlife from the comfort of their own balconies, there are several must-see land excursions every nature-lover should add to their list. The collection of unspoiled walking trails in Sitka are ideal for hikers, while a trip to the Denali National Park is in order for those who love experiencing wildlife firsthand. The six-million acre nature preserve is one of the largest untouched places on earth, and is home to wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves, moose, and caribou.

If you prefer to immerse yourself in local culture and tradition, be sure to take advantage of Icy Strait Point and Ketchikan. Since Icy Straight Point (located just down the road from Alaska’s largest Tlingit Indian village) limits the number of cruise ships that call upon its shores each day, visitors can experience a highly-authentic Alaskan experience, highlighted by locally-produced crafts and treats. Ketchikan is referred to as “Alaska’s First City” and is home to the world’s largest collection of totem poles. No matter your interest, there’s something in Alaska that’s sure to entertain.

Alaska Cruise Tips

Alaska has much to offer, and most of it can only be experienced by touring ashore either before or after your cruise. If you do decide to plan your own land tour before or after your cruise, popular land destinations include Denali National Park, Talkeetna, Juneau, and Fairbanks. While in Juneau, be sure to take the Mount Roberts Tramway up 1,800 feet for gorgeous views and access to hiking trails.

As you’re probably aware, the weather in Alaska is unpredictable. Some days it’s cold, and other days it’s even colder. Even on sunny days, cruising near a massive iceberg can be quite chilly. To stay warm, dress in layers of clothing so you can add or remove layers as dictated by your environment. You’ll want to pack a bathing suit, a very warm fleece jacket, and casual wear for time spent on the ship. Be prepared for drastic changes in weather and, if you’re especially prone to seasickness, ask your doctor for prescription-strength medication.
