The Luxury of More

AmaWaterways, we love what we do ? providing our guests with the best travel experiences possible. In fact, ?Ama? is derived from the Latin word for ?love.? It is a concept that permeates every aspect of our river cruises, from the design of our ships to the development of our itineraries to the high levels of service we deliver to our guests. It is a philosophy that drives our attention to detail, constant innovation and culture of always making our guests our top priority. It is the reason our guests all have a story about why it was the best cruise they?ve ever taken. When you sail with AmaWaterways, you will experience the luxury of more ? more ways to discover, more ways to indulge and more onboard amenities. With an award-winning fleet, critically acclaimed dining and unique tour options, you will have the trip of a lifetime on our cruises.

More Views:

Most of the staterooms on our fleet feature not just one, but two private balconies ? a French balcony and a full outside balcony. Together, they provide a unique panoramic view of the beautiful sights along the river and maximize the natural light coming in. With twin balconies, you can enjoy the river however you like.

More Room:

Our ships are your floating sanctuary. That?s why we chose to carry fewer guests (at most 164), so that we could make your staterooms larger and provide more amenities. With fewer people on board, public spaces like restaurants and lounges are never crowded, and accommodations range from 160 square feet all the way up to 350 square feet.

More Dining:

AmaWaterways? expert chefs craft menus that feature exquisite, locally-inspired cuisine as well as traditional, Western offerings. At breakfast, sip sparkling wine as you partake of the buffet and fresh pastries, or opt for something made-to-order from the menu. Stop by the Main Lounge for a light lunch, or head to the restaurant for full menu service and high-quality regional wine or beer. Dinner is a delectable, multi-course affair with wine recommendations that accompany visually stunning, delicious dishes. Try local favorites ? like goulash while cruising through Hungary, bratwurst and sauerkraut after returning to the ship from Vienna, or Camembert cheese while on the Seine ? or something more familiar, like a sandwich. No matter what your preference, your taste buds are sure to be impressed.

More Service:

A proactive, personalized approach to exceeding expectations is a hallmark of the AmaWaterways experience. Since we have a higher staff-to-guest ratio (1 staff member for every 3 guests) on our ships, our team can fully dedicate themselves to providing each of our guests with the highest level of service. From the time you book your cruise to the time you board your flight home, you will be treated to an exceptional hospitality experience. At AmaWaterways, we only hire the best of the best. Each member of our crew ? whether it?s a stateroom steward or a Cruise Manager ? is an expertly-trained professional with a passion for what they do and a commitment to excellence. We consider our guests part of the AmaWaterways family, and we work hard to make sure you feel that way the entire time you?re with us. What?s more, you?ll have the same highly-trained Cruise Manager during both your cruise and land program.

More Ways to Relax:

With fewer guests on board, we have space for luxurious amenities. Relax with a massage after a day of exploring, stay in shape with our fitness room and watch castles go by while enjoying a cocktail and taking a dip in our sun deck pool with a swim-up bar.

More Entertainment:

Whether it?s traditional Bavarian music, a local quartet or contemporary piano favorites, you will enjoy an eclectic schedule of onboard entertainment every night.

More Staying in Touch:

While on your cruise, you?ll want to share all the pictures you take of everything you see and do. And, you also want to stay in touch with your friends and family back home. That?s why we provide free internet access and Wi-Fi when you?re aboard. Your stateroom also has a computer that you can use in case you didn?t bring your mobile device, or just want to sit down at a desk to surf the web.

More Innovation:

Our river cruise line has always been inspired by a vision of innovation. Among other things, AmaWaterways was the first to offer twin-balcony (a French balcony and outside balcony) staterooms, include a specialty restaurant, carry a fleet of bicycles on board and offer a broad selection of tours. Our ships are uniquely designed to minimize the impact of water levels on the river, featuring low drafts for when there isn?t enough water, and specially engineered wheelhouses for when there is too much water.

More Included Tours:

We realize that our guests have different tastes, so we?ve developed a menu of shore excursions in every port of call. In many destinations, you?ll be free to choose from one of several options ? all of which are included in your cruise fare. There?s always a city tour designed to show you all the renowned highlights and landmarks in grand capitals and charming villages alike. Is it your first time in Vienna? Opt for an unforgettable exploration of the major sights led by a local, English-speaking guide that is well-versed in history and culture. Have you already been to Nuremberg? Instead of taking the city tour, indulge in a bratwurst and beer tasting on one of our Special Interest Tours, which are specially designed to place you in the midst of local life. We also offer different tour paces: Gentle, regular and active. The choice is yours.

More Active Ways to Discover:

With AmaWaterways, you have the option of exploring Europe?s amazing sights like the locals do. We were the first river cruise line to carry an entire fleet of complimentary bicycles on board, so you can experience biking alongside enchanting riverside pathways and in city centers. Whether you feel like joining one of our exclusive guided bike tours, or want to go discover on your own, there are many ways for you to explore on two wheels during your cruise. The beauty of Europe doesn?t just lie in its architecture and landmarks ? there are also breathtaking things to be seen when you venture out into nature. That?s why we?ve designed special guided hikes that will take you a bit off the beaten path in some very beautiful destinations like the Wachau Valley. These unique, active tour options are included in the cruise fare so that you have more choices when it comes to how you prefer to explore.

Prepare to be pampered!

| Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, Czech, Germany
What a great week on the AmaCerto! The food is over the top (they even have their own baker onboard) and it is never ending. The only thing better than the food was the service. We felt pampered and spoiled from day one. The ports were great and we went on tours everyday. Be prepared to walk a lot. And the nice thing about the tours is that you don't have to worry about not getting the one you want. They can accommodate everyone. Such a great experience. We would highly recommend this river cruise to anyone!

Rhine River Cruise

| Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland
Great destinations. The best excursions. Beautiful scenery. Great river cruising. Breathtaking experience.

Trip

| Nuenberg
This ship is the same as the other Amawatrways ship we were on. Same layout Same friendly staff

Excellent cruise on the Rhine

| Amsterdam to Basel, Switzerland
This was our first river cruise and loved it as much, if not more than sailing on a huge ocean liner. Our meals couldn't have been better and the staff was so very attentive. We had a wonderful time on the Rhine, and all of the ports we visited.

Great experience

| Rhine (Amsterdam, Germany, France, Switzerland)
Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about AmaWaterways and the AmaCerto. Everything was handled to near perfection. Even the local guides were excellent! I met many really nice people, and I felt that the majority were in my age group. Although the weather was a bit chilly and damp some days, we also had some lovely sunny days. The trade off of going at a cooler time of year is it is less crowded and touristy. People didn't spend much time on the sun deck but the lounge afforded great views and I spent a few hours taking pictures from the sun deck of the many castles we passed on one day. Even my last impression was good as I left for the airport. My cruise manager met me in the lobby of the hotel (he had continued on with all of us doing the post-cruise extension) to see me off. The driver took me to the airport, and I was met there by an AmaWaterways representative to assist me with my bags, with check-in and walk me to security. What a wonderful extra touch!

Relaxing Cruise Fits Niche Clientelle

| Amsterdam, Cologne, Rudesheim, Heidelburg, Koblenz, Strasbourg, Basel
Returned from a Rhine River Cruise aboard the Amacerto. The staff is impeccable. The dining is first rate. If you want a cruise for adults with exceptional food, wonderful local wines, and attention to detail in service, this is a great fit. The Rhine water level was very low. At one point there was less than a foot of water under the keel of the boat. The captain and his crew did a magnificent job navigating the channel to keep everyone safe and the boat on schedule. Active seniors and adults wanting a little more laid back cruise will find this cruise very enjoyable. The dining is wonderful and the dress code is more khaki slacks and button up shirts for men, and slacks and blouses for the women. The onboard gift shop is small, and the prices are very competitive with the market. You won't feel like you were gouged by the gift shop. The laundry service is also reasonably priced and convenient too. The onboard pianist plays mostly 70's, 80, and 90's music. However, when asked to play Chopin, he didn't miss a note! Some things didn't go as well with some excursions, but were not at all a reflection of the staff or their professionalism. It was chilly even for October, but that's the chance you take. We wished we had more time in some of the towns, but the ship has a schedule they need to keep too. We were able to hit the highlights, but didn't have time to explore much. Many of the sites were crowded with tourists like us. If you are travelling with children or want adrenalin filled bungee jumping, water slides, casinos and 24/7 drinking this is not your cruise. If you are wanting constant photo opportunities with stunning castles and historic towns, this is a must.

Exceptional River Cruise

| Basel to Amsterdam
This was my first river cruise and I was truly spoiled by the personal care and concern every crew member showed me as a passenger. It was a "don't worry about anything" cruise.

Legendary Danube Cruise in July - 5 Star!!!

| Prague, Wilshofen, Engelhartszell, Durnstein, Vienna, Budapest
Cruise Director was excellent; when low waters prevented us from docking in ports she quickly arranged to get people to those cities by bus and for those of us not wanting to take a long bus ride arranged tours in our docking port. Hosted a dinner with my Uncle and his family in Linz aboard the ship. Elvis was wonderful as was our waitress. Wonderful reunion with family. The ship in general was very nice. The rooms were well laid out, the lounge and bar were nice (excellent wine choices). Sun deck and views were phenomenal. 3 days in front of cruise in Prague is highly recommended.

My first-ever river cruise

| Rhine River cruise, Germany, France, Switzerland
First river cruise but it won't be my last. So relaxing and beautiful. Staff were exceptional and saw to my every need. Accommodations were luxurious and I thoroughly enjoyed my French balcony. Can't wait to go again!

Danube Cruise

| Serbia, Romania, Croatia, Hungary, Austria
Excellent staff. Clean. Good service. Radi the Cruise director was fantastic, fun, informative and knowledgeable about all the excursions. Each Bus guide was very professional and showed concern for all the passengers. They offered us hints and suggestions for each area we visited.

Budapest to Amsterdam Danube Cruise

| Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, The Netherlands
The crew are extremely responsive to each passenger's individual need.

Danube River Cruise—Wine Theme

| Czech Republic -Prague, Vilshofen Passau, Linz, Salzburg, WeissenKirchen, D?rnstein, Kerns, Vienna,Hungary-Budapest
Service not as top notched as other ocean cruises like Crystal or Paul Gauguin.

Best Vacation of a Lifetime!

| Germany, France, Amsterdam
We loved this cruise. We would highly recommend Amawaterways. Exceptional customer service!

Great River Cruise

Overall, Great Vacation

| Netherlands/Belgium (Tulip Time)
Overall, we had a great vacation. Our major disappointment was with the food. The portions were very small - almost tasting menu sized. Normally, this would not have been an issue for us, but there was, from our perspective, a limited number of choices, which meant that we were not necessarily interested every course. So, small portions meant we were not sufficiently satisfied at some of the meals. In general, breakfast was best and dinner theleast satisfying. For a high end cruise line, these food issues are an issue.

Wonderful trip with Ama

| Rhine River, Switzerland, Germany, France, Amsterdam
This is our third trip with Ama Waterways and look forward to more.

AMA Certo River Cruise

| Vienna, Darnstein, Melk, Linz, Passau, Regensburg, Nurenberg, Prague
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this Christmas Market cruise. I wished that we had MORE time in each port stop. Having an assortment of guides and bus drivers for everything was nice...but the tipping each and every day gets absurd. Many people did not have the change to tip, so that was unfortunate for the guides.

Inspired by classic ocean yachts, the AmaCerto -- debuted in 2012 -- will provide the most distinctive river cruise experience. A magnificent glass elevator is one of the unique design elements found onboard, as well as our exclusive “Twin Balconies”. The beautifully-decorated and spacious accommodations range in size up to 300 sq. ft. Relax in a heated Sun Deck swimming pool with a “swim-up” bar; enjoy Chaîne des Rôtisseurs culinary creations. The ship also features a Fitness Center, Massage, Hair and Beauty salon; complimentary Internet access and first-run Hollywood movies; plus a fleet of bicycles to enhance your river cruise experience.
