I recently had the pleasure of spending my birthday at Terranea Resort, overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Southern California's Rancho Palos Verdes. This is a luxury resort for everyone - from single travelers to families, to golf and spa enthusiants alike! Located on the bluff of Rancho Palos Verdes, Terranea is also the prime destination for onsite weddings. The resort offers multiple onsite activities such as horseback riding and whale watching. Here, one is sure to have a vacation filled with memories that last a lifetime.

Our room was very spacious, the bed was heavenly, and the bathroom and deep bathtub were also very elegant. We had the breakfast buffet ($58.00 per person) Sunday morning at the Catalina Kitchen. There was a HUGE selection to choose from, including seafood (king crab!) and a dessert bar that makes you want to have two of each. Our oceanfront/pool view eatery offered great service, and very well prepared dishes. There was so much food that I made only one trip through the buffet (absolutely no lines) smile!!! The sushi was prepared right before our eyes, and yes the omelet bar offered more than just ham and cheese - I observed at least 10 various ingredients to select from for the perfect omelet, i.e. fresh fruits, cheeses, roast beef, ham, crispy bacon, biscuits, and country gravy. Wow I am getting hungry just thinking about it!

Spa enthusiasts will love the location of the oceanfront spa located right next to The Spa pool, Spa Cafe (healthy eating), and boutique; offering the latest fashions for both men and women. Needing to workout while on vacation? Then you will love the expansive fitness center for those that actually enjoy working out while on vacation (not me!!!). Guests can purchase a day pass for $40.00 to enjoy the sauna, Jacuzzi pools and of course a variety of spa treatments to relax all of those aching bones. For non-resort guests, day passes are $60.00. Throughout the resort, you have such a variety of activities, from golf, to walking trails, to simply relaxing at the pool doing absolutely nothing. I cannot wait to return.

If you are looking for a resort that offers you so much in Southern California, then this is the place to be. There were NO disappointments that I can see, well perhaps one...........I only booked one night!
