Sundance Resort is short drive from I-15 just south of Salt Lake City. As you drive from the city, the mountains start to surround you. At this time of year (October) the many trees are changing colors, so the hills are alive with reds, yellows & greens. You pass by Bridal Veil Falls with 2 levels of falls. When you turn onto Alpine Loop Road, you see why Robert Redford fell in love with this canyon over 40 years ago (1969).
The resort offers Alpine skiing along with snowboarding in the winter. It has a PSI
A certified Ski School which offers workshops & a children’s ski school. It has a Nordic Center for cross
-country skiing and after a short drive from the resort you can take a guided snowmobile tour or a sleigh ride.
If you are going to be in the area during the summer or fall, you can go hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding or fly fishing. No matter what you do, the surrounding scenery is awe-inspiring. The Resort is situated below Mount Timpanogos which has one of largest Quaken Aspen Tree groves I have ever seen. It offers a little over 100 different lodging choices from the Studio at around 450 sq. ft., a Sundance Suite which has a kitchenette, fireplace in approximately 700 sq. ft, a Mountain Suite with a kitchen, a bedroom, fireplace, deck in 900 sq. ft. or one of the ten Mountain Homes with anywhere between 2 to 5 bedrooms, hot tubs, etc. scattered throughout the canyon. They all have the rustic, home feel. If there is not enough to do in this canyon, you are short 40 minute drive to Park City which is where the Sundance Film Festival is held each year. So whether you want to enjoy peace & quiet or get outdoors, you can do it here.
