We had a great time, and all the transfers worked out well.

We did end up renting a car for the first 3 days, and did not have any problems. We did see a few groups of soldiers in trucks going past our beach location in Tulum, but otherwise no issues with the military. The Club had security people along the paths of the club near the rooms and on the beach as monitors, as the beach is open to the rest of the hotels, but there were no problems.
