Four Seasons, Costa Rica.
The Fours Seasons is set on the Papagayo Peninsula, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The first thing I noticed was how isolated it felt, as the nearest town was about 45 minutes away. It truly felt like an escape from city life.
What’s interesting about the property is that each room is designed with a treehouse feel – they’re oversized and well appointed (just as you would expect from The Four Seasons). The patio was my favorite. It was furnished with a
couch, a coffee table, two chairs, and a reading table, all enclosed in a screen from which you could see and hear the ocean (I spent more time out there then in the actual room).
There are 2 pools - a ‘quiet’ one and the family pool, both with excellent service, including water, popsicles, and various other pamperings offered during the day at no charge.
There is also a wonderful (free) Spa with hot and cool whirlpools and two beaches with snorkeling, kayaking, and various other water sports.
The Four Seasons is in the dryer area of Costa Rica, so I wouldn’t say you've experienced ‘true’ Costa Rica if you haven’t seen the Arenal Volcano and the Rain Forest. You can get to these by taking an overnight trip.
In the forest, we saw monkeys, tapers, raccoons, and tons of birds.
All-in-all, Costa Rica was a blast and I’d hop on a flight back in a quick minute!
