ITINERARY

  • Day 1 BOARD YOUR OVER­NIGHT TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT.
  • Day 2 ARRIVE IN AMSTERDAM, HOLLAND. at Amsterdam Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the ship. The rest of the day is at leisure. (D)
  • Day 3 AMSTERDAM. at Amsterdam A city tour takes you along the canal-lined streets to view the Mint Tower, Dam Square, the Royal Palace and Museum Square. Visit the renowned Rijksmuseum, home to Rembrandt’s The Night Watch. This evening, the captain hosts a Welcome Dinner. (B,L,D)
  • Day 4 COLOGNE, GERMANY. at Cologne (Koln) Germany Disembark for a tour in Cologne. Stroll the narrow streets of Old Town, passing by tiny squares and little churches on the way to the imposing and magnificent Cologne Cathedral, the city’s most famous landmark and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A guided tour features the Shrine of the Three Kings. (B,L,D)
  • Day 5 KOBLENZ. at Koblenz Dis­em­bark in Koblenz, set at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle. A guided walking tour shows you the narrow streets and historic squares, the alleyways and fountains of the old quarter, and the 12th century churches of St. Florin and Our Lady. (B,L,D)
  • Day 6 COCHEM. at Cochem Cochem is an architectural gem, typical of the Moselle region and best explored on foot. With a guide, discover Cochem’s ­narrow alleys and half-timbered houses, and see Reichsburg Castle, a grand struc­ture perched high on a hill above the town. Then continue on for a wine tasting at a local vintner in Ediger Eller. (B,L,D)
  • Day 7 TRIER. at Trier Trier is the site of one of the oldest Roman outposts along the Moselle. Exploring the town on a guided tour, see its many ancient monuments, including the Constantine Basilica, the ruins of the imperial Roman baths and the imposing and well-preserved fortified Roman gate called Porta Nigra.   • Day 8 REMICH, LUXEMBOURG. at Remich The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is an independent sovereign state set between Belgium, France and Germany. The town of Remich sits on the river near the border with Germany. A guided tour includes a visit to the World War II cemetery. (B,L,D)
  • Day 9 BERNKASTEL, GERMANY. at Bernkastel In the heart of Germany's wine-producing region, Bernkastel has a history of more than 500 years of winemaking. A walking tour shows you the splendid Medieval and Renaissance buildings. Then, sample the local Riesling, long a source of wealth for this small town. (B,L,D)
  • Day 10 RÜDESHEIM. at Rudesheim Explore this historical city which dates back to Roman times. Wander down the Drosselgasse, a long avenue of shops and wine bars. Then travel by gondola to the impressive Niederwald Monument commemorating the unification of Germany. The views from here are spectacular! (B,L,D)
  • Day 11 SPEYER. at Speyer In Speyer, enjoy a walking tour to the Old Town and the grand Speyer Cathedral, the final resting place of German emperors for nearly 300 years. Later, why not join an optional tour to Heidelberg? (B,L,D)
  • Day 12 STRASBOURG, FRANCE. at Strasbourg Take a canal cruise through this medieval city. See the town's covered bridges, the modern building that houses the European Parliament, and the picturesque Petite France district. (B,L,D)
  • Day 13 COLMAR. at Colmar Disembark for a walking tour through Colmar, hometown of Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi, most famous for the Statue of Liberty. Wind through cobblestone streets lined with brightly colored ­houses and see the well-preserved canal quarter, known as Petite Venice. (B,L,D)
