- DAY 1 DEPART USA* Board your overnight transatlantic flight.
- DAY 2 ARRIVE IN ST. PETERSBURG, RUSSIA Welcome to Russia! You will be met and transferred to the ship. The rest of the day is free. (D)
- DAY 3 ST. PETERSBURG This morning, a tour shows off the main sights of the city, including Palace Square, Nevsky Prospekt and more. Tonight, perhaps attend a classical ballet performance in the Hermitage Theatre. (B,L,D)
- DAY 4 ST. PETERSBURG A highlight of your Russian vacation will be a tour of the Hermitage Museum, located in the opulent Winter Palace. In the afternoon, perhaps take an optional excursion to magnificent Peterhof Palace. This evening, relish a Welcome Dinner on board your cruiser. (B,L,D)
- DAY 5 ST. PETERSBURG Drive to nearby Pushkin to visit Catherine Palace and Park, where the Imperial family of Russia made their home from the time of Peter the Great. This afternoon, you may want to join an optional excursion including the Yussupov Palace or a cruise around St. Petersburg’s canals. (B,L,D)
- DAY 6 ST. PETERSBURG A free day to see more of St. Petersburg at your own pace. Perhaps, join an optional excursion to the Peter and Paul Fortress, which dates from the 18th century and is the final resting place of the Czars, or to St. Isaac’s Cathedral with its sparkling gold dome and unparalleled interior. - DAY 7 MANDROGI Visit Mandrogi, a reconstructed village on the River Svir. You will glimpse what life was like in Russia’s past as you stroll by the wooden houses, watching craftsmen at work making matrioshkas, lace and ceramics. Savor a traditional Shashlik picnic lunch ashore, before re-boarding your ship. (B,L,D)
- DAY 8 KIZHI ISLAND Cruising in Lake Onega, step ashore on Kizhi Island. Your visit includes the open-air Museum of Architecture, where wooden buildings from all over Russia have been re-erected to provide a glimpse of life in centuries gone by. A highlight is the onion-domed Church of the Transfiguration, an extraordinary wooden structure built without any nails. (B,L,D)
- DAY 9 GORITSY (KIRILLOV) Arrive in the little villages of Goritsy and Kirillov. You have a chance to meet the locals and to find out what daily life in this part of the world is like. (B,L,D)
- DAY 10 YAROSLAVL Cruising the Golden Ring, disembark in Yaroslavl, a picturesque town with ancient churches and fortresses. Sightseeing includes views of the Monastery of Our Saviour, a 12th-century edifice of white walls and towers and the beautiful Church of Elijah the Prophet, which features many striking frescoes. - DAY 11 KOSTROMA Today’s port of call is Kostroma, an ancient cultural and commercial center lying on the banks of the Volga. See the city, including the House of Nobility and the former Romanov Museum. (B,L,D)
- DAY 12 UGLICH Stop in Uglich, which holds a notorious place in Russian history. It was here that Czar Ivan the Terrible had his son Dmitri assassinated. On a walking tour, see the Church of Czarevich Dmitri on the Blood and the five-domed Transfiguration Cathedral. (B,L,D)
- DAY 13 MOSCOW Cruise through the Moscow Canal, admiring the views of the Russian countryside. Reaching the Russian capital this afternoon, a tour shows you the highlights of the historic city, including Red Square and colorful St. Basil’s Cathedral. (B,L,D)
- DAY 14 MOSCOW A visit to the Kremlin is today’s highlight. In the Armory Chamber, admire the collection of weapons, suits of armor, jewelry, the famous Fabergé eggs and much more. After lunch, take a ride on Moscow’s Metro. Then visit Arbat Street, a lively pedestrian area of shops and restaurants. (B,L,D)
