ITINERARY
- Day 1 BOARD YOUR OVERNIGHT TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT.
- Day 2 ARRIVE IN VIENNA, AUSTRIA. at Vienna Upon arrival in Vienna, you will be met and transferred to the ship. (D)
- Day 3 VIENNA. at Vienna A tour of this historic “City of Music” travels along the stately Ringstrasse to St. Stephen's Cathedral, where Mozart was married in 1782, and then on to Mozarthaus, where Mozart lived and wrote The Marriage of Figaro. This evening the captain hosts a Welcome Dinner on board. (B,L,D)
- Day 4 LINZ. at Linz On a walking tour, see Linz's Old Church built in the 1670s by the Jesuits. Then stroll through the pedestrian zone, Alter Markt, and the impressive Main Square. (B,L,D)
- Day 5 REGENSBURG, GERMANY. at Regensburg Regensburg is a friendly town with quaint cobblestone streets, medieval alleys and historic Roman remnants. See the magnificent Cathedral of St. Peter and the town's famous 12th-century Stone Bridge. (B,L,D)
- Day 6 NUREMBERG. at Nuremburg Make a stop in Nuremberg and see the Nazi Party Rally grounds, Kaiserburg Castle, the old town wall and the central market with its beautiful fountain. (B,L,D)
- Day 7 BAMBERG. at Bamberg Walk through Bamberg's Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll along the serpentine streets with its baroque houses, and stop for photos of the Town Hall, overhanging the river. (B,L,D)
- Day 8 ROTHENBURG / WÜRZBURG. at Wurzburg Travel along the Romantic Road to Rothenburg where the ancient city walls still stand, protecting the gothic churches and gabled houses. Later, return to the ship in Würzburg. (B,L,D)
- Day 9 MILTENBERG. at Miltenberg Stop in Miltenberg, a medieval town with crooked streets and leaning houses. A tour highlights Main Castle, the Old Town, New Square, the Royal Inn and the “Crooked House.” (B,L,D)
- Day 10 MAINZ. at Mainz Mainz is famous for Johannes Gutenberg, the town's native son who invented the printing press with movable type in 1447. A walking tour of the downtown area includes a visit to the Gutenberg Museum.* Afterwards, take a walk through Old Town. (B,L,D) * The museum is closed on Mondays.
- Day 11 RÜDESHEIM / BOPPARD. at Boppard Disembark in the charming town of Rüdesheim. A short journey takes you to Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. Housing one of the world’s largest collections of mechanical musical instruments, from tiny music boxes to a huge Concert-Piano-Orchestrion, this is a fascinating stop. Return to the ship and glide along the river to Boppard, where there is time to stroll through the streets on your own. (B,L,D)
- Day 12 COLOGNE. at Cologne (Koln) Germany In Cologne, a walking tour through the narrow streets shows you the highlights, including the fabulous Gothic Cathedral.* The city’s most famous landmark, the Cathedral was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996. (B,L,D)
