Seven Seas Mariner and Seven Seas Voyager Refurbishment Complete
Published Jan 22, 2009
Regent Seven Seas Cruises is pleased to announce that the first phase of the company's most ambitious refurbishment ever is now complete. The 700-guest all-suite, all-balcony luxury vessels, Seven Seas Voyager and Seven Seas Mariner, completed their respective dry-docks just in time to debut on their 2009 World Cruises. The refurbishment program, which cost approximately $40 million, has resulted in a fresh, elegant and luxurious feel aboard each ship, while retaining the warmth and charm for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises is acclaimed.
Radiating a new sense of warmth and sophistication, the ships' public spaces are resplendent with elegant new furnishings, carpeting and accents. From the bold jewel tones of Signatures, to the elegant Chablis and Merlot palettes of Compass Rose, or the soothing colors of sand and sea in the Observation Lounge, every area exudes a new sense of style and elegance.
Highlights of the refurbishment include:
- The creation of Prime 7, a fresh, contemporary interpretation of a traditional grill restaurant
- The re-design of lounges and public rooms to create more spacious areas for relaxation
- The creation of new lounge and dining areas around the Pool Grill
- New carpeting, wallpaper, upholstery, light fixtures and drapes in most public areas and guest suites
- More casual dining options with the installation of a pizza oven and ice cream bar
- The creation of an extended coffee and snack bar area on Seven Seas Voyager, similar to the popular Coffee Connection on Seven Seas Mariner
REGENT ANNOUNCES MAJOR FLEET ENHANCEMENT AND REFURBISHMENT
Line plans to spend approximately $40 million on three all-suite vessels
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – September 15, 2008 – Regent Seven Seas Cruises announced that it will invest approximately $40 million dollars to implement an extensive refurbishment and enhancement of the line’s all-suite vessels: Seven Seas Voyager®, Seven Seas Mariner®, and Seven Seas Navigator®. This investment is in addition to the $20 million that was spent on the fleet over the past two years as the line re-branded under the Regent moniker.
“I am delighted to make this announcement as we are not only refurbishing the ships, we are adding many new luxury features that will enhance the guest experience,” said Mark Conroy, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “This comprehensive enhancement program will see each of the ships emerge essentially brand new and positions our fleet as the standard-bearer in the luxury cruise category,” he added.
The refurbishments will commence in December 2008 with the dry-dock of Seven Seas Voyager, followed by Seven Seas Mariner in January 2009, and Seven Seas Navigator in the first half of 2010, and result in a new look that is fresh, elegant and luxurious yet retains the familial warmth and charm for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises is lauded.
In addition to the scheduled technical work, almost every area of the ships will be refurbished, with public rooms being substantially re-designed with new furniture, using sumptuous materials like imported leathers, suede, and mahogany, along with warm color schemes and rich fabrics offset by lustrous marble and granite accents. The renowned marine architectural firm of Yran and Storbraaten of Oslo, Norway, is overseeing the design work along with Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Vessel Operations team. Seven Seas Voyager and Seven Seas Mariner will be refurbished at the Grand Bahama shipyard in Freeport, Bahamas. Final details and the location of Seven Seas Navigator’s 2010 dry dock will be announced at a later date.
Highlights of the refurbishment program for Seven Seas Voyager and Seven Seas Mariner include:
- The creation of a new alternative dining concept and venue – a steakhouse named Prime Seven –that will replace the current Indochine-menu Latitudes restaurants
- The re-design of lounges and public rooms to create more spacious areas for relaxation
- The creation of elegant new lounge and dining areas around the Pool Grill
- New carpeting, wallpaper, upholstery, light fixtures, and drapes in most public areas and guest suite accommodations
- More casual dining options with the addition of pizza ovens and ice-cream bars
- The creation of an extended coffee and snack bar area on Seven Seas Voyager, similar to the very popular Coffee Connection on Seven Seas Mariner
“This significant investment not only demonstrates our commitment to our guests and the bright future of the Regent Seven Seas Cruises brand, it elevates the experience to new heights and provides a glimpse of what the future holds,” stated Frank Del Rio, Chairman of Prestige Cruise Holdings, RSSC’s parent company.
The refurbishment and product enhancements are the result of extensive feedback from RSSC’s loyal guest base – through comment cards, personal interaction between the line’s management and the guests in regular “town hall” meetings or through the online community.
“Mark and I spent a good deal of time on the ships this past spring speaking with our guests and travel agent partners and I trust they will be as elated with the fruits of this labor as we are,” added Del Rio.
Regent Seven Seas Adds New Fashion Program
Published on: May 22, 2007
Regent Seven Seas Cruises will offer guests the opportunity to explore fashion and enhance their personal style in Barcelona with a new Circle of Interest, called "Fashion Savvy or Fashion Faux Pas," during two Mediterranean sailings this fall. Passengers on the 700-guest Seven Seas Voyager can participate in fashion-oriented onboard and on-shore activities led by featured host Marta Wendlinger this September. Wendlinger, a long-time Barcelona resident, is founder of One2One Fashion, a fashion consulting and personal shopping business, and has organized runway shows and events for a fashion school in Spain. She has been featured on television and radio programs throughout Spain and writes columns for Spanish newspapers and fashion magazines.
Titled after her column, Wendlinger's program will begin with a private welcome cocktail party for participants. Onboard, each guest will meet with Wendlinger for a two-hour, one-on-one wardrobe assessment, color consultancy evaluation and body shape analysis to assess flattering attire. The program also includes a private onboard lecture, "How to Find Your Best Style" and other exclusive activities. Upon arrival in Barcelona, Circle guests will join Wendlinger for visits to her favorite designer boutiques. They will also shop under her guidance, followed by a sight-seeing stroll through the city.
Circles of Interest are themed enrichment programs combining onboard and on-shore experiences and offering guests the opportunity to discover a destination through a lens of particular interest, with the insights of an expert guest host and the camaraderie of a smaller community of guests who share similar interests. Other Circle themes include Art & Culture, Food & Wine and the Environment & Marine Life. The Style Circle of Interest will be offered on Seven Seas Voyager's 10-night sailing departing from Dover on Sept. 12, and an eight-night cruise departing Monte Carlo on Nov. 3. Depending on the sail date, the cruises feature calls to Barcelona, St. Malo, Bordeaux, Bilbao, Lisbon, Cadiz, Casablanca, Malaga, Lanzarote (Canary Islands) and Funchal (Madeira), among other ports. The cost of the Style Circle of Interest is $250 per person. For more information, call 800-300-4567 or visit www.all-travel.com

A selection of 43 voyages in 2008 includes itineraries from seven to 11 nights calling on the Society and Tuamotu Islands, as well as longer voyages to the Marquesas, Cook and Austral islands. In response to increased demand from guests, Regent Seven Seas' 2008 program features a greater number of shorter, seven-night cruises than in recent years. In addition to the established programs offered on Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea, two new properties are offered: Le Taha'a Private Island and Spa; and the Moorea Pearl Resort and Spa. Special extensions are also offered to Australia and New Zealand in conjunction with select departures. Through an exclusive partnership with Jean-Michel Cousteau and his conservation organization, Ocean Futures Society, young guests and their parents may participate in "Ambassadors of the Environment" Circles of Interest aboard 12 sailings in 2008.
Jean-Michel Cousteau will sail aboard the 14-night Cook, Austral, Tuamotu and Society islands voyage departing Sept. 27, 2008. Regent President Mark Conroy will sail on a 14-night Marquesas, Tuamotu and Society Islands cruise departing from Papeete on Jan. 5, 2008. Paul Gauguin's 2008 voyages start at $2,195 for seven-night roundtrips from Papeete, Tahiti. Cruise fares include all shipboard gratuities; complimentary beverages, including select wines and spirits served throughout the ship; complimentary 24-hour room service; refrigerator stocked with soft drinks, beer and bottled water replenished daily; and an in-suite bar setup in butler suites.
