Day 1 ARRIVE MOUNT RUAPEHU.
Check into the elegant Bayview Chateau this afternoon. After a briefing on the treks ahead, the balance of the day is free. (D)

Day 2 CRATER LAKE TREK.
A scenic day! Ride two chair lifts up to the Knoll Ridge Chalet, New Zealand's highest restaurant at 6,561 feet. From there, walk to Dome Shelter (8,766 feet) where you will see the famous crater lake surrounded by snow capped peaks with stunning Mt. Tongariro and Mt. Ngauruhoe in the background. (B,L,D)

Day 3 TONGARIRO TREK.
Embark on “the best one day walk in New Zealand.” The Tongariro Crossing will take you past the active Red Crater and the brilliantly colored Emerald and Blue Lakes. (B,L,D)

Day 4 MOUNT RUAPEHU.
A free day to enjoy your splendid surroundings. Take your choice of several shorter walks, including the magnificent Taranaki Falls, Silica Rapids and Tama Lakes. (B,L,D)

Day 5 DEPART MOUNT RUAPEHU.
