Itinerary

Day 1, Mon. ARRIVE CHRISTCHURCH, NEW ZEALAND.
After checking in at your hotel, the balance of the day is free to begin exploring Christchurch at your leisure. This evening enjoy a welcome drink with your Tour Director. (D)

Day 2, Tue. CHRISTCHURCH / FRANZ JOSEF.
Enjoy a spectacular journey over the Southern Alps aboard the TranzAlpine train. At Punakaiki, see the Pancake Rocks and Blowholes. Then coach to Franz Josef Glacier. You may want to take an optional scenic flight (weather permitting, own expense). (B,D)

Day 3, Wed. FRANZ JOSEF / QUEENSTOWN.
Experience the picturesque scenery of the coastal road today. Then, travel over the Haast Pass, stop at Thunder Creek Falls, and see Lake Wanaka, Cromwell and Kawarau Gorge. Visit historic Arrowtown this afternoon before continuing on to Queenstown. (B)

Day 4, Thu. QUEENSTOWN / ROTORUA.
Depart Queenstown this morning and fly to Rotorua. This afternoon, meet your new Tour Director and fellow travellers. Tonight enjoy a special evening of entertainment at The Realm of Tane, an extraordinary journey through Maori culture and mythology, followed by a Maori Hangi and Concert. (B,D)

Day 5, Fri. ROTORUA.
The day begins with a ride on the Skyline Gondola. Enjoy breakfast while admiring panoramic views of Rotorua. Next, visit Paradise Valley Springs and take an entertaining look at farm life at the Agrodome. Later, tour Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve with a local Maori guide. See geysers, boiling mud pools and possibly New Zealand’s national bird, the kiwi. (B)

Day 6, Sat. ROTORUA / WAITOMO / AUCKLAND.
Leave Rotorua, heading north to Waitomo. Explore the famous Waitomo Caves on a guided tour and a boat trip through the incredible Glow Worm Grotto. Then continue your journey to Auckland. Enjoy a city sightseeing tour with views from Mt. Eden before arriving at your hotel. (B,D)

Day 7, Sun. DEPART AUCKLAND.
You will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
