Summertime Pool Parties Support Trevor Project
All-Travel.com Joins Effort to Prevent Suicide among Gay Youths
Los Angeles, CA – June 14, 2005 – Suicide is a leading cause of death among 15-24 year-olds, and the odds increase three-fold for gay youths who feel lost, alone and have no where to turn for support. Joining the list of other corporate and media sponsors committed to preventing these statistics and supporting gay and questioning teenagers, All-Travel.com, the leading provider of personalized travel services to the greater Los Angeles area, is co-hosting two summertime pool parties to benefit the Trevor Project.
Founded in 1994 by three Academy Award-Winning filmmakers, the Trevor Project is a non-profit organization promoting acceptance of gay and questioning teenagers and the prevention of suicide among this group. The national toll-free, 24/7 Trevor Helpline has been a source of strength and hope for thousands of young people contemplating suicide, as well as a life-saver. Funds raised from the pool parties will go directly to the Trevor Project.
“By supporting the work of the Trevor Project and the fundraising goal of $20,000 from both parties, we are helping make a difference in the lives of gay and questioning young people in crisis,” said Eric Maryanov, founder and president of All-Travel.com, based on the Westside since 1984. “We’re also honoring a dear friend and colleague with our efforts.”
In addition to the All-Travel.com sponsorship, Maryanov is serving as co-host of the two events participating on the planning committee with 10 other members. The Paradise Pool Parties are open to the public and scheduled for June 25 and August 20, from 1 to 6 PM.
Tickets are $40 per party, or $70 to attend both. For more information about the events or to purchase tickets, visit http://www.thetrevorproject.org/, or call 310.271.8845.
