From the Sand up, New Club Med

From the Sand up, New Club Med Buccaneer’s Creek is Spectacular
Upscale Property Completely Rebuilt to Satisfy Luxury Travelers
The Signal - Business Section, January, 2006

Los Angeles, CA – January 3, 2006 – Forget what you already think you know about Club Med Vacations, today’s sun and sand villages are new, upscale and cater to the luxury travel market. The first Club Med property to undergo a total transformation was Buccaneer’s Creek in Martinique, which recently celebrated it’s grand opening with Club Med North America President John Vanderslice and the management team, a select group of top-producing travel agencies, and lucky guests. All-Travel, the leading provider of personalized travel services to the greater Los Angeles area and a dominate web marketer of the Club Med product, was among the invitation-only crowd.

“Built from the ground up, this is the most luxurious Club Med property to date,” said David Van Ness, All-Travel Vice President of Marketing who attended the opening event. “Since Club Med enthusiasts are aging and want a more upscale travel experience, the company is meeting the demand by renovating properties throughout the Americas.”

The original Buccaneer’s Creek was built in 1969 on the island of Martinique in the Caribbean as one of the first Club Med villages. Leveled to the sand and completely rebuilt, adding a state-of the-art infinity pool, more guest rooms and suites, gourmet restaurants, a luxurious full-service spa, and high-end room amenities such as a rain shower, flat screen television and fine bed linens, the new, and definitely improved, Buccaneer’s Creek is nothing short of spectacular. Club Med invested some $60 million to enhance the property to meet the expectations of today’s sophisticated traveler.

Also introduced was a distinction in room categories. New to the Club Med prototype, guests can now select from graded rooms, ranging from ocean front to garden view. Pricing varies accordingly, but is still offered in a traditional Club Med all-inclusive package. Add-ons like scuba diving, golfing and deep-sea fishing are charged separately.

With a scenic property like this situated in the largest coconut palm grove on the island amongst tropical gardens and a white sand beach, it’s no surprise Buccaneer’s Creek is already sold out through March, explained Van Ness, who said he’d like to return to the village and spend some quality time relaxing. Weekly charter flights to Martinique are available out of JFK airport in New York.
