Passengers aboard the Crystal Serenity’s July 28 Mediterranean itinerary will enjoy a special culinary treat. Master Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, famous for blending traditional Japanese cuisine with Peruvian influences, will be onboard, preparing a week of Omakase dinners, which means chef’s choice, in the Silk Road restaurant. Nobu has been directing the menus and training the Silk Road chefs since 2003, but this visit will allow him to demonstrate his cooking techniques and visit with the restaurant’s guests. Zagat has said that Matsuhisa, who operates two dozen restaurants worldwide, may be the best Japanese chef in America, and Crystal Cruises features the complimentary Silk Road restaurants on the Crystal Symphony, as well as the Serentiy.

We love fine food, and we enjoy learning new techniques. How about you? Does the appearance of a celebrity chef, like Nobu Matsuhisa, sway you to choose a particular sailing? We’d love to read your comments.
