Holland America Line’s newest ship makes
its debut next summer. The 2,104-passenger Eurodam represents a new
class of ship for the Seattle-based company. Another Signature-class
vessel is on order following the Eurodam.
In my interview, I talk with Rick Meadows,
executive vice president marketing, sales and guest programs. Meadows
says that with the new ship, Holland America Line chose to stay in the
mid-size ship category, “part of our overall brand promise to deliver
the mid-size ship, premium cruise experience.”
Eurodam features new stateroom decor that is “a bit more current in the interpretation of what classic is,” Meadows says.
Eurodam kicks off its inaugural season from Copenhagen, with 10-day
Baltic cruises that can be combined with 10-day Norwegian Fjords and
Scotland cruises.
On August 14, Eurodam repositions on a 15-day cruise to New York,
where she begins a series of 10-day Canada/New England cruises between
the Big Apple and Quebec City.
On October 1, Eurodam repositions again on a 14-day cruise from
Quebec City to Fort Lauderdale, where the new ship begins a series of
seven-day Caribbean cruises.
