A self drive vacation allows you to plan your own itinerary, select your overnight stops and choose the type of accommodation on a day-to-day basis. There is no better way to travel for those who really want to meet the Irish and absorb the local culture. You can start your vacation in Dublin or Shannon where you will pick up your car of choice on arrival. Your first night’s accommodation can be reserved in Dublin or Shannon, and you should request this service at the time of booking. For the balance of your vacation, your supplied with vouchers for each overnight stay, accommodation directories and a road map.

Things You Should Know

• We recommend you purchase hotel accommodations for any nights you stay in Dublin and allow us to pre-book them for you. During certain periods, city center hotels may require additional supplements.
• To avoid disappointments during high season, we recommend you pre-book B&B, hotel and castle accommodations
• Unused vouchers, lost or stolen vouchers cannot be refunded or reissued.
• Car pick-up/drop-off without charge in Dublin, Cork, Shannon or Galway
• In general, driver age limit is 25-74 years. Certain car types have different limits (25-65 years). This is strictly enforced.

then this is the choice for you. The Irish are known for their hospitality and friendliness, and conversation will not be in short supply. Relax in the garden, give a helping hand on the farm, or just sit back and relax on the porch or by a fire - the choice is yours.

You will find that some homes are hundreds of years old, while others were just built. You can choose from over 2,000 B&Bs located throughout Ireland. Rest assured that the homes are routinely inspected to ensure high standards of cleanliness and comfort and all have been approved by the Irish Tourist Board. All homes provide private bathroom facilities. For the busy summer months, we recommend you prebook our preferred B&Bs

First Class Hotels
Many travelers prefer hotels, and Brendan offers more than 200 hotels throughout Ireland. These lodgings offer great variety and a full Irish breakfast is included. You will find the hotels vary in personality from historic with old world charm to modern with many conveniences, while others are peaceful country inns. If you would like to sample a B&B for a few nights - no problem - request the number of nights you wish to stay in B&B accommodations when you request your hotel nights. A list of B&Bs will accompany your documents along with your hotel directory.

Why not experience the luxury of an Irish castle? Enjoy the graceful serenity of a Manor house hotel rich in history and character. Upgrade your hotel voucher to such famous and breathtaking properties as Dromoland and Ashford Castle. Some sights in Ireland should be seen from the advantage of a motorcoach rather than driving yourself. You can book these special sightseeing trips at a discounted price before leaving the United States. Use your sightseeing options at anytime during your vacation.
