Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Depart for Europe. Your exciting European trip begins. Day 2: Arrive Athens. Make your own way to the hotel, then the rest of the day is free to explore Athens at your leisure. This evening we meet for an introduction briefing with your Tour Manager and fellow passengers. (D) Day 3: Athens. We begin this morning with a half-day Athens sightseeing tour taking in such sites as the Acropolis, Temple of Zeus and the first Olympic Stadium with an expert local guide. The afternoon is yours to explore further. Perhaps a visit to the National Archeological Museum (when available), wander through the Athens flea market or stroll the streets of the famous Plaka area. (B) Day 4: Athens to Mykonos. This morning we take a short ferry ride to Mykonos, the jewel of the Cycladic Islands with its beautiful harbour fringed with a cluster of white-washed houses. One glimpse will have you convinced why this is one of the most popular and stunning of all the Greek Islands. Upon arrival we are transferred to our equally beautiful hotel, Contiki's very own resort located on the superb Kalafati beach. (B,D) Days 5-6: Mykonos. Enjoy the island's myriad pleasures. By day you can relax on any one of the excellent beaches, stroll through the whitewashed streets, shop in the boutiques or even take a trip to a neighbouring island. In the evenings sip cocktails as the sun goes down and round off the night on the dancefloor at one of Mykonos's famous clubs. (B,D) (B,D) Day 7: Mykonos to Santorini. An early start this morning as we are transferred to the port to board our ferry to the most impressive volcanic island of Santorini. (B,D) Days 8-9: Santorini. With its sheer cliffs topped with gleaming white houses, Santorini is a truly unique and romantic island. Our hotels are conveniently located in the village of Karterados and each boasts its own swimming pool. Spend your days relaxing on the beach, exploring the town of Fira with its breathtaking cliff-top restaurants, take a caique to the active volcanic island of Nea Kameni or visit the site of Akrotiri - the lost city of Atlantis? (B) (B) Day 10: Santorini to Ios. We leave Santorini for Ios. Our hotels are well located close to the beach with views of the sea, each with its own swimming pool, and close to the best night life on the island. (B,D) Days 11-12: Ios. Chill at the beach or pool by day and in the evening, enjoy the fantastic night life. Ios is renowned as the party island and it won't let you down. (B) (B) Day 13: Ios to Athens. Wave goodbye to Ios and the Cycladic Islands as we day-trip back to Piraeus port, where we are met and transferred to our hotel in Athens for a final evening together. (B) Day 14: Depart Athens. Fond farewells this morning as our tour ends after breakfast at the hotel.
