The MS AmaVerde offers the ultimate in custom-designed luxury. This 162-passenger vessel features a combination of amenities and design details never before seen on the great waterways of Europe. Featuring an impressive range of stateroom categories, dining options and public lounges, MS Amabella will transport you on the river cruise of a lifetime.
AmaVerde Overview
Debuting in 2011, the AmaVerde's unique custom design, dining options and exclusive features make her a river cruiser like no other on the great waterways of the world. The 161-passenger AmaVerde represents the next generation of ship design, proudly brought to you by AmaWaterways.
Features & Amenities
The AmaVerde’s exclusive design features, amenities and complimentary extras ensure a river cruise vacation like no other. She offers revolutionary “Twin Balconies,” consisting of a spacious step-out balcony plus a floor-to-ceiling French balcony. AmaVerde also features a variety of dining venues for your culinary enjoyment. Those venues include an intimate 24-guest chef’s table restaurant with its own private chef; a wine room and two main restaurants.
Public areas aboard AmaVerde include a spacious Main Lounge, a relaxing fireside library and Observation Lounge. The ship also features a heated swimming pool on the Sun Deck. Staterooms feature the exclusive AmaWaterways “Infotainment” system, offering complimentary 3G high-speed Internet and Wi-Fi; first-run hit Hollywood movies and more.
As with every AmaWaterways vessel, guests on the AmaVerde enjoy gourmet dining, complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks with dinner, plus complimentary shore excursions daily. Additionally, the AmaVerde features the following:
- BICYCLES: The AmaVerde has plenty of bicycles on board which can be used by passengers, free of charge. Most regions offer well-maintained bicycle paths along the river. Follow along on a guided tour (offered in many destinations) or explore on your own.
- WELLNESS AREA: Located in the aft area of the Violin Deck, this generously designed space includes a glassed-in fitness room featuring high-tech fitness equipment plus a sauna to relax tired muscles. Our adjacent massage, hair and beauty salon is conveniently located to provide you with some magnificent on board pampering.
- ELEVATOR: The ship has an elevator, which very few river cruise ships feature. The elevator reaches four different levels: the Restaurant level (1), the Staterooms on the Cello Deck (2), the Lobby and Panorama Lounge (3) and the Staterooms on the Violin Deck (4).
- STATEROOM AMENITIES: The AmaVerde’s exquisitely decorated staterooms average 214 square feet, with the majority of them boasting AmaWaterways’ exclusive “Twin Balconies,” consisting of a step-out balcony plus a French balcony. Each stateroom boasts the amenities of a fine hotel with plush bedding, a cozy sitting area, Infotainment System, hair dryer, safe, terry bathrobes, individually controlled air-conditioning and ample closet space. All staterooms and Suites are outside accommodations.
- SUITE AMENITIES: Suites aboard AmaVerde are an extra spacious 255-350 square feet. They feature a comfortable sitting area with a sofa and two chairs, exclusive “Twin Balconies,” a mini bar and a luxurious bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower.
Dining & Cuisine
AmaVerde offers an array of dining options for your culinary enjoyment. Choose Verde Fine Dining Restaurant, the shipsÂ’ main restaurant, offering gourmet cuisine. Bella Cucina Restaurant, the second stylish onboard restaurant, offers classic Italian fare at dinner. At Erlebnis ChefÂ’s Table Restaurant, passengers can watch as a private chef prepares a special tasting menu in this unique and exclusive 24-seat venue. Additionally, passengers can enjoy casual light lunch menus in the Main Lounge, as well as private dining in the Wine Room, a dining area seating up to six guests thatÂ’s perfect for celebrating a special occasion. On select days, guests can also enjoy a lunch outdoors on the Sun Deck.
AmaVerde's onboard culinary staff offers sophisticated menus comprised of wonderful soups, fresh produce, high quality choice cut meats, and fresh fish and seafood. Start your day with a lavish gourmet champagne breakfast buffet. Choose from a rich assortment of breads, croissants and pastries, a variety of fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, and smoked salmon. Sample the delicious cheeses, cold cuts and local sausages, as well as our daily regional specials. An array of traditional breakfast items is also available from the menu.
Return from your shore excursion to a delicious lunch. Start with mouth-watering hot or cold appetizers, homemade soups, then choose from a selection of great entrees, finish off with a delectable dessert and complimentary cappuccino.
In the evening, be our honored guest for an elegant dinner in a selection of dining venues. Enjoy delicious cuisine and complimentary free-flowing wine, beer and soft drinks. It all adds up to a truly memorable dining experience.

With AmaWaterways, complimentary shore excursions are included in every port. Upon disembarking, you’ll separate into a small group so our Local Guides can shape the excursion according to your expectations and interests. We will always offer a “Gentle Walkers” group, for those who’d like to explore at a more leisurely pace. Wherever possible, we will also offer an “Active Walkers” group, for those interested in covering more ground, and a “Late Starter” group for those who prefer to sleep in. Whichever group you join, your experience will be enhanced with the use of our complimentary headset system. These state-of-the art devices allow you to hear the audio transmissions from our guides, without the need to huddle together in a group. It provides maximum flexibility and convenience so that you can truly explore at your own pace! - Specialty Restaurants:

Holland and Belgium - 4/2012
A tulip cruise is a perfect way to greet springtime.
The flowers are at their best from about mid-March through mid May. I cruised on the AMAWaterways AmaCerto on a 7 night cruise. Our days were filled with the opportunity to explore several intriguing cities and villages of the Netherlands and Belgium either with a guide or independently. The beautiful AmaCerto was making its inaugural sailing.
The crew did an excellent job of taking care of all the passengers –keeping us well fed, educated and busy.
Take all the free Culinary Walking Tours
There are walking tours for different levels and wheelchairs may be available.
Reserve the free small dining room early on in the trip.
Forget the price. This trip is real value and a unique experience.
Pros: Walking tours especially culinary tours, food, wine with dinner, service, intimate feel, free postcards and postage and lots more.
Cons: Not much downtime, awkward bathroom counter space, sailing at night , not seeing much scenery from the water and the weather.

Christmas markets Trier to Amsterdam - 12/2009
Excellent holiday sailing aboard intimate, warm ship. Crew treats passengers as family, sharing holiday traditions and stories.
Holiday cruising with AMA Waterways is delightful. The warmth of the crew, atmosphere and decor of the ship, and fabulous itinerary combine to delight and create a festive holiday experience.
Special events were planned throughout the week: Having ample snowfall was a bonus, making the definition of seeing castles along the Rhine dotting the snowy field magical. Story telling sessions, local musicians, traditional-local holiday menus, and the personal touch of local guides bring the AMA Waterway's caring spirit into every experience.
Food and wine was generous, local and top quality. Staff took time to know passengers, shared holiday traditions and embraced the diversity of all passengers. Each village visited was unique and beautiful - a magical way to celebrate the holidays, make new friends and discover another beautiful part of the world.
Pros: Festive, holiday away from home warmth, excellent amenities & staterooms, warmth of crew
Cons: Christmas markets closed 2 or 3 days prior to Christmas eve
