Here are some helpful tips for travelers to prepare for great Riviera Maya adventure park experiences:
Pack Light
Avoid bringing unnecessary items and valuables for your own convenience and piece of mind. Many parks however, do have small lockers available. Bringing a small amount of cash or snacks and other purchases is a good idea. Some parks even take photos throughout the day and offer them for purchase, one being Xplor adventure park.
Keep Water Clean
Many parks have requirements that help keep the water clean. Some places require showering before getting into the water and most require biodegradable types of insect repellent and sunscreen. This avoids polluting cenotes and other water.
Wear the Correct Footwear
Flip-flops are not recommended. The ideal footwear to bring are sneakers that dry quickly or comfortable water shoes. These types of shoes offer a secure fit for a variety of activities as well as more traction.
Protect Your Head
Protect yourself against too much sun with sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. These items can go a long way and can help make your adventures more enjoyable!
Wear a Swimsuit and Layer Shorts
If you are planning on zip lining and getting wet, it’s best to wear long shorts over your swimsuit (to protect against rope burn) and to arrive already wearing a swimsuit. It can get chilly in the cenotes so if you are concerned about getting cold in the water, it would be a good idea to inquire about wetsuit rentals.
Play It Safe
Always wear the required gear for activities and pay close attention to safety instructions. This is the best way to stay safe and fully enjoy your adventure park experiences.
