Tapping into the industry-leading entertainment team at Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas Cruises® is developing a collection of custom-designed stage spectaculars for Seven Seas Explorer®. Hailed as the most luxurious ship ever built, Seven Seas Explorer will debut with four astonishing new shows. The extraordinary level of production poured into each show is designed to perfectly complement the grandeur and elegance of the Constellation Theater, where the performances will be staged on select evenings.
A theatrical dream team comprised of writers, directors and choreographers with extensive Broadway experience are developing the various productions specifically for Seven Seas Explorer, led by Julliard-trained musical director Jeremy Fenn-Smith. Performed by a talented cast of 12 singers and dancers accompanied by a live seven piece orchestra, the breathtaking productions debuting on Seven Seas Explorer include:
Burn the Floor
This enthralling musical takes the audience back to February 9, 1964 when Beatlemania and the British Invasion hit North America during the Sunday night Ed Sullivan Show. The cast dances and sings through this musical era with dances including The Jive, Swing, Fosse, Contemporary, The Madison and The Twist.
Paradis
Featuring the finest in Parisian-style entertainment, Paradis is a bawdy burlesque blend of percolating dance, steamy song stylings and audacious costumes set to a heart-throbbing beat. It is directed by veteran Broadway and Off-Broadway choreographer Patricia Wilcox.
A Day in Hollywood
This Tony Award-winning show spurs singing and dancing in the aisles, and leaves guests yearning to go to the movies. The show features some of the greatest music ever written for the movies, such as “Over the Rainbow,” “Thanks for the Memory” and “Hooray for Hollywood.”
Peggy Lee
Honoring the American jazz and popular music crooner, Peggy Lee, this production explores Lee’s legendary career through memorable hits such as “Fever,” “The Freedom Train” and “You Gotta Have Heart.” This original show is flawlessly directed by William Whitener, who has performed, choreographed and directed for stages worldwide, including Broadway.
While Seven Seas Explorer will be the first ship to debut these fantastic new shows, Regent Seven Seas Cruises is investing to upgrade the level of entertainment across its entire fleet. In the coming months, each ship will add a wide-range of staged entertainment, from Broadway-style theatrical shows and artfully-staged musical medleys to variety-style comedic productions. All shows will feature state-of-the-art production elements and are designed to appeal to diverse and sophisticated audiences.
