Baltic Cruise On Holland Eurodam

Dear Kat,

Dick and I had a simply marvelous time on our cruise and trip.  Transfers went well and no luggage was lost.  Everything was on time-- as scheduled.  The complementary excursion to Peterhof was perfect; we were in a much smaller group than we would have had with Holland America.  The Eurodam is a lovely ship and we enjoyed all the amenities; met some very interesting people.  The new Tamarind restaurant was exquisite, featuring a Pan Asian cuisine--ate there 3 times.

Travel Bound was absolutely terrific.  When we arrived in Amsterdam, there was a huge gathering of tall ships as Amsterdam was celebrating "Sail Amsterdam" weekend.  Thus, the Eurodam could not dock where it was originally scheduled and had to use the dock for container shipping.  Because of the festival, some roads were closed to traffic because of some bridges having to remain open.  Thus, there was a terrific traffic gridlock in Amsterdam.  Nevertheless, our driver was only 40 minutes late in picking us up and extremely apologetic.  There were many, many passengers still waiting for taxis and transfers when we left.  Our Travel Bound driver actually gave an informative description of the areas of town that he was driving through on our way to the hotel.  We enjoyed being near Rembrandt Square and having a convenient loading dock for the on/off commuter boat located just across the street.  The Eden Amsterdam had a fantastic restaurant (Brasserie) featuring French cuisine.  The continental breakfast was an extensive buffet.
