Day 1 Arrive Sydney Following arrival, transfer from the airport to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Perhaps check out the Opera House, The Rocks area, Queen Victoria Building, or just laze in the sun at Sydney Botanical Gardens. Day 2 Sydney - Sightseeing & Harbour Cruise Wrapped around its magnificent harbour, Sydney is the vibrant cosmopolitan gateway to Australia. With nearly 4 million people, Sydney is Australia's largest city and its' best according to the locals. See the beauty of this exciting city on today's sightseeing tour and relaxing harbour cruise, a ‘must’ for any visit to Sydney. View the city’s well known landmarks, the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Pass the Botanic Gardens en route to Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair for superb views of the city and harbour. See some of Sydney’s stately homes and architectural masterpieces, from the historic Rocks area with its old world charm to the exclusive Eastern Suburbs and famous Bondi Beach. You will soon agree that Sydney is one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Day 3 Sydney - Blue Mountains (L) Explore the rugged and beautiful Blue Mountains National Park, part of the Great Dividing Range, linking Australia’s north to south and dividing coastal cities from the vast ‘Outback’. You will travel deep into the Aussie bush in your 4WD and discover outstanding lookouts and rock formations, together with unusual plants and wildlife. From the charming village of Leura to the mountain centre of Katoomba, today you will see breathtaking views including the famous ‘Three Sisters’ sandstone rock formation and the Jamieson Valley, known locally as Australia’s ‘Grand Canyon’. Day 4 Depart Sydney At leisure until you transfer to Sydney airport for your departure flight. Combine this with another city stay or an island visit. Maybe extend your stay in Sydney, and have a very unique experience: Enjoy your own private yacht for the night on Sydney's great harbour! Day 1 Arrive Melbourne Following arrival, transfer from the airport to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure, catch a tram to Chapel Street and watch the locals on this amazing street, maybe visit the Queen Victoria or South Melbourne Markets', Try a 'dim sim' and donut at the markets as they are the best in this town! Visit Bourke Street Mall, where the shopping goes on forever in the centre of this city. Day 2 Melbourne - Phillip Island Penguins Phillip Island is home to an astounding array of wildlife, including Australia’s largest fur seal colony, the little penguins and cuddly koalas. See the wonderful nightly phenomenon of the Penguin Parade, as they battle the raging surf on their return to the beach at dusk after a day of fishing out at sea. The large penguin colony enters the beach in groups and ‘walk and talk’ loudly as they waddle up the beach to their families waiting in the sand dune burrows. Enjoy this amazing wonder of nature as they feed their young. Day 3 Melbourne - At Leisure Today is at leisure to enjoy a little shopping or private sightseeing in this garden city. Melbourne, the cultural capital of Australia, is known for the good things in life - fashion, food, entertainment and sport; it is a city of style, of Victorian architecture, trams, theatres, art galleries, fine restaurants and leafy parks and gardens. Visit the Melbourne Zoo for a close up view of Australia’s unique wildlife, stroll through the Botanic Gardens with its vast collection of Australian native plants, visit the Victorian Arts Centre and nearby Southbank or perhaps take one of the many tours available. Day 4 Depart Melbourne At leisure until you transfer to Melbourne airport for your departure flight. For that unique experience: Savanah Walk Tour This is a one-day guided walk out of Melbourne - a naturalist-guided eco-tour with a cultural undertone across the Western Plains of Victoria. Venture into 'real' Australia to see kangaroos free ranging in large groups, koalas in the wild at Brisbane Ranges, wallabies, emus and the abundant bird-life. Enjoy a full day ‘Ocean Spirit’ cruise to Michaelmas Cay, a low lying vegetated sand cay and a National Park. Day 3 Cairns – Kuranda (L) Enjoy the very best of Kuranda today including both the scenic Kuranda Rail and Skyrail, with their breathtaking views from reef to rainforest. Travel through tunnels and gorges on one of the world’s great rail trips to Kuranda, the village in the rainforest. Time to explore (market days Wed-Fri & Sun), remember this is the best places to purchase an original Aboriginal souvenir, before boarding Skyrail, a gondola cableway, and glide over the rainforest canopy. Discover Aboriginal culture at the world renowned Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park where a lavish buffet lunch is included. Transfer return to hotel. Day 4 Depart Cairns At leisure until you transfer to Cairns airport for your flight. For that unique experience: Undara Lava Tubes Travel west to Broomfield Swamp, a large extinct volcano crater renown for its prolific bird life, then into the outback Gulf Savannah region. After a buffet lunch on the deck at the Lodge, a Savannah Guide will take you to the Lava Tubes; 190,000 years ago, when a major crater erupted, it's molten lava (enough to fill Sydney Harbour in 6 days) flowed along the riverbeds. These lava tubes are the oldest standing and best preserved systems anywhere in the world. The Lava flow is the longest from one single volcano stretching over 100 miles. Over time, some of the roof collapsed and these fertile pockets preserved mini ecosystems and rainforest plants from Gondwana some 300 million years ago. Mid afternoon return to Cairns. Dinner in the Rainforest: You depart your hotel with no idea of where you are going. Twenty minutes later, after a journey taking you off the highway and along a twisting dirt road through the forest, you arrive....and with candle in hand, find your way along a flame lit trail to a place beneath the canopy of the world's oldest rainforest. Enveloped by ancient trees, the gentle music of the sleeping forest is a fairytale setting for a magical, mystical and sensual evening. You are greeted with champagne by the light of a tree lit with your own candles. After a sumptuous and innovative feast of exotic tastes amid the forest, the haunting sound of a lone didgeridoo fills the air.
