Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Depart for Europe. Day 2: Arrive Amsterdam: After checking into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to explore this energetic city. This evening meet your Contiki Tour Manager and fellow travellers. (D) Day 3: Amsterdam: Visit the cheese village of Edam on a bicycle tour of the Dutch countryside. Spend your free time wandering along the canals, shopping or visiting famous museums such as the Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank's House. (B) Day 4:Amsterdam to Paris - Our focus today is the journey to Paris, the 'City of Lights'. What better introduction than with our sightseeing tour and your first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower? (B,D) Day 5:Paris: Today's sightseeing includes some of the most celebrated icons of Europe. Perhaps take the opportunity to visit the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe or the Champs Elysées. Tonight, why not complete your Parisian experience with a French meal and a famous Parisian cabaret? (B) Day 6: Paris to Lucerne: Our path takes us toward the towering Alps and the vast serene lakes of Switzerland. Be charmed by medieval Lucerne with its Chapel Bridge and plentiful shopping opportunities. Maybe a cruise on Lake Lucerne to enhance your ultimate Swiss encounter? (B,D) Day 7:Lucerne to Chamonix: Spend the morning in Lucerne shopping for Swiss chocolate and watches before we make our way to Chamonix, located at the foot of Mont Blanc. This afternoon why not travel the cable-car to the Aiguille du Midi for breathtaking views over the Alps? (B,D) Day 8: Chamonix to French Riviera: Today we take the tunnel through the heart of Mont Blanc, dip into Italy and back into France to arrive on the elegant French Riviera, playground of the rich and famous. (B,D) Day 9: French Riviera: Rub shoulders with the jet-set on the promenade at Nice and enjoy your chance to relax or shop for French fashion. Tonight we visit Monaco! Why not join us for an elegant meal, view the Royal Palace and take the opportunity to try your luck at the casinos of Monte Carlo? (B) Day 10: French Riviera to Barcelona: We travel south today and visit a French perfumery in the heart of Provence. We skim past the Pyrénées before arriving in the vibrant Mediterranean city of Barcelona. (B,D) Day 11: Barcelona: Our included sightseeing tour is a great introduction to this celebrated city. See Gaudi's Sagrada Familia Cathedral, the 1992 Olympic Complex and the Gothic district. A chance to experience Barcelona's famed shopping street La Rambla and discover some of Spain's specialties. Tonight why not experience the passion of Flamenco dancing? (B) Day 12:Depart Barcelona: This morning a final farewell to your fellow travellers as your tour ends after breakfast. (B) |
