Vicki Chalfin

I was raised in Los Angeles, have two children, two grandchildren, and was married for 41 years (child bride). I have a degree in accounting and worked with my husband in our own pharmacy before becoming travel agent. I always loved to travel and as a child wanted to be a stewardess so I could fly all over the world. To date, I’ve spent 12 exciting years in the industry and have visited places such as Kenya, Egypt, Israel, China, Alaska, Canada, England, France, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Scotland, Switzerland, Eastern Europe (Prague, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria) all the Scandinavian Countries and Russia, South America, Mexico, Hawaii, and most of the United States. If I had to pick a favorite, I would say Alaska, Canada, or the USA, but each new trip tends to become my favorite. I’ve sailed on Carnival, Holland America, Princess, Celebrity, Regent, SilverSea and specialize in Cruises, River Cruises, Europe and Alaska, with certifications from Hawaii, Kenya, Crystal, and Holland. I love this industry because there is no other job which lets you live out your dreams and help others with theirs.

  • Presentation of Silversea's New Luxury Cruise Ship

SilverSea - Silver Shadow Ship Inspection March 8,2009

What a perfect day to visit the Port of Los Angeles, and lucky we were as due to problems with immigration it was almost 2 hours before we were allowed on the ship.  When they were ready for us we were escorted on to the ship and into the showroom where Mimosas and Champagne were waiting for us with a few goodies to nibble on as it was now lunch time.

The presentation was very interesting and we heard a lot about the newest ship to be added to the fleet the Silver Spirit.

In December 2009, Silversea will present their newest luxury cruise ship — Silver Spirit —  95% with verandas, more dining choices (6 dining venues) including an intimate supper club with dancing. , more onboard amenities, more of the excellence you’ve come to expect of Silversea.  And all about her Inaugural Season in South America and Caribbean.  Silver Spirit will be larger than her sisters at 540 Guests and during holiday and summer sailings they will have a youth program.

We also got to see some video from the Prince Albert II on some of their expedition voyages.

From there lunch was served in the Main Dining Room  (O My Gosh) Cream Brule of Foie-Gras, Lobster Consume and a great piece of filet of beef (yumo) Dessert was also very good, agents and invited guest were all interspersed and  conversation was very interesting.

After lunch we were taken on the ships tour, with stomachs full of wine and food we all climbed up and down the stairs to see the beautiful suites and cabins. Most of the cabins were already occupied by guests, some of whom were going to be sailing for 92 days.   I did not get to appreciate the beauty of a Silver Suite when I actually took a Silversea cruise.  So this gave us a much better opportunity to look inside at the different suites and check out all the fantastic amenities.  I even took a few minutes to sit out on the sun deck, breath in the air, close my eyes and imagine I was actually leaving it all behind.

  • Discover New Zealand on the Seven Seas Mariner

    Vicki

Thank you very much for your help in creating our dream vacation. Everything went exactly as planned. The Seven Seas Mariner was a very impressive ship and the service was remarkable. We also met Jane Lee Winter from Signature Travel who hosted a reception one evening. My wife, Pat, took a lot of pictures and we have some great memories. I think that the cruise was the best way to see New Zealand.

Thanks again for your help with this trip.
